Not necessarily connected to the charges, but looks as if Txiki Begiristain is going to be stepping down at the end of the season. Ornstein stating it was pre-planned, with successor lined up for early 2025 across a 6 month handover period. Wonder if this means Pep will look to also leave in the not so distant future? Even if Man City escape any sort of punishment.

I agree on Felix, I don't think he was necessary whatsoever and a striker would've been a better choice. While I'd have preferred to keep Gallagher, from a squad perspective I don't necessarily think it's that bad of a move when you consider the role and pecking order. KDH has 43 league minutes thus far, and 90 a piece in the Conference League and League Cup. Would've been an injustice for Gallagher to step back into this sort of situation. Eh, I don't care about signing a bunch of goalkeepers personally. It's such a sparse position that's very hit and miss, having as many stokers in the fire as we do will hopefully lead to finding our long term number one. Yes and no. Availability plays a part here. If we couldn't find our preferred options in one position it shouldn't mean abandoning signing in other areas. We're arguably better equipped having the AM stocks we do than we've been for a very long time.

Tammy is on loan from Roma.

They've had a pretty gentle start to the season I'm fairly sure, something like not having played any team 10th or higher or along those lines.

Was it the small "/s" that gave it away, Ham? 😅

Tomori and Tammy are being ripped new ones by a section of AC Milan fans because of their performances and recent penalty incident that also involved Pulisic. Been a pretty steep decline for Tomori since winning the title.

There's a clip on YT that showcases all the wasted opportunities Enzo has created since joining, if we finished our chances better in those instances he's production would look more satisfying.

There is nothing to suggest playing him at RWB would have any real positives, similar to Sterling, Hudson-Odoi and Pulisic who also ended up playing WB roles at some point and largely floundered. His age is less of an issue when the rest of the squad around him is as young as it is in surrounding positions. Sure, he's undercooked relatively speaking for a player his age but this was also common knowledge before he even signed. He's shown enough over his overall sample size to indicate he can be a contributing player in some manner. It may not be as a bonafide starting winger, but certainly has the general tools to be an impact option of some measure - as he's shown. He just needs to do this consistently. No surprise you're blinded to what other things Mudryk can provide. He's actually a decent crosser and his passing as a playmaker is somewhat underrated. His role here however is very different to what he played at Shakthar and with the NT. We play him more as an out and out wide man that hugs the sideline, where as previously he was used more as a playmaker focal point that could drift centrally and create, Either way, he had a good cameo.

Hudson-Odoi played a blinder by the way, I know that'll interest you to hear. /s

20 years ago we also played with an extra man in midfield, with one of the three also designed a specific defensive role that consisted of sitting in front of the defence and shielding it. Not only do we now play with one less body, but there is no bonafide holding midfielder anymore. There's a lot more demand placed on a player like Caicedo in this day and age, someone tasked with doing a lot of defensive work but still also pushing up himself in the press. A lot of occasions BOTH Enzo and Caicedo are upfield and that allows the opposition to get in between the midfield and defensive line too easily, so it's not just an Enzo specific problem per se. The remedy is a bonafide holding midfielder that purely sits, but teams don't really want that anymore in a lot of cases.

In fairness, when opportunities have been there for Chukwuemeka he's either been injured or sick. Even then, he's not a CM regardless, so to get him into the side it's gotta come at the expense of either Palmer, Sancho, Neto, Madueke, Felix or Mudryk - with some of those already getting slim minutes as it is themselves.

None of us are interested in knowing what you do down at the parish.

Being conservative you'd have to say double, but realistically it's probably more in a lot of those cases. What a squad though.
