  1. Didier Drogba certainly wasn't doing the things Jackson is doing at the age of 22, he was playing in the second tier in France so who knows? If Jackson goes on to achieve half of what the great man did then he will prove to be a bargain, although he already is in my book. He averages a goal contribution every other game in the league and across all competitions. £35m for a 22 year old striker who scores or assists every other game, at the highest level, in his first season in a new country is ridiculous. Funny how we are always crying out for this exact type of signing and when we do it people moan. Crazy.
  2. 22 years old, first season in a new league, in a new country and he has 18 goal contributions in 31 starts. Maybe you're the clown?
  3. Never said I wanted him to stay, just that I thought the board might keep him, that's not flip flopping
  4. I've never said we would come top 4 with this squad or manager.......
  5. Three times in one season, twice in a couple of weeks with the same player, shameful from this clown. Tells you everything you need to know, we are a team that lacks leadership, discipline, authority and respect and it falls on one man and he's been unable to sort out the most basic thing. Anyone that is thinking maybe we have turned a corner or maybe give him another season after last night, and our previous games that have seen us unbeaten in 8 should take a closer look at those performances and ask why it's taken so long to get a performance like last night and why it only happened because of injuries. If anything last night reiterated what I've been saying all season, the players aren't the problem and are more than capable, with a couple of additions to challenge for the top 4. Guarantee Disasi, Enzo, Sterling all feature more often than not, if fit, for the rest of the season and we will have more performances like Burnley and Sheffield United than last night. Just imagine what we could do with a proper manager........
  6. Honestly do you get any joy following us? Can't you just enjoy the one shining light to come from a truly abysmal season? We are witnessing one of the greatest individual seasons we have ever seen at this club and that says so much when you consider some of the players to have played hers but Cole Palmer is playing every bit as well as any of them and to an equally high level. The big difference is he's doing it for this Chelsea when all our other greats did it in teams that challenged for the highest honours. Right now this 21 year old that you didn't want because he was a City reject and others didn't want because we had just sold Lewis fucking Hall is one of, if not THE best player in the world. That's how good he is right now and he's doing it in a team, that without him, would be in a relegation fight. Saka and Rashford both had purple patches last year and were labelled 'best in the world' by our media. This kid is a different level to both of them, he does things they could only dream of. One hit wonder? Maybe if you actually watched him you would understand instead of relying on your wireless.
  7. It's the greatest song to ever be played at any football stadium but it should only be used for very special occasions.
  8. Cole Palmer will rightly get all the plaudits but that whole performance was down to Caicedo and Gallagher. I'm a big fan of Enzo as a footballer, genuinely think he could go and star for Madrid or Barcelona but he just isn't capable of playing like that.
  9. Petr Gusto Disasi Silva Cucurella Gallagher Caicedo Palmer Chukwuemeka Mudryk Jackson
  10. But what those managers have done for their respective clubs is what matters, not where they sit in the league. Getting Brentford into and keeping them in the Premier league is astonishing. The same can be said for Howe at Bournemouth and then taking over Newcastle when they were 19th and finishing 4th the following year. As for De Zerbi he's everything Pochettino isn't. Tactically superb with a philosophy on football and a system that is outrageous to watch. What he's done at Brighton in the last couple of years, taking them to their highest ever league finish and into Europe for the first time in their history, whilst loosing all their best players is ridiculous. Some people will knock him for this season but when you take into account they lost Caicedo and Mac Allister and have to play Thursday nights it's no real suprise they haven't been as good, similar to Newcastle this season with the added pressure of the champions league. Pochettino had a good run at Southampton, similar to what the others have achieved but that was 10 years ago now and he's been found wanting ever since. It might be that Frank, Howe and De Zerbi are similar and never going to be elite but we know for certain Poch won't. If we can't get Tuchel or Jose back then for me it's an absolute no brainer. De Zerbi is, no doubt, going to get a much bigger job and personally I think he will be very successful wherever he goes and I really hope it's here. I don't doubt we have good enough players to finish in the top 4, yes we need a couple of additions but what we need more than anything is a game plan. A system that suits the players and a manager that will drill them on the training ground day in, day out and you've only got to watch Brighton for 10 minutes to see that they are an incredibly well drilled, well oiled machine. They clearly spend a lot of time on the training ground working on tactics, how to play the system and everyone knows their job, no matter who plays. It's seamless. It's literally everything we're not.
  11. Does make you wonder how the interview went and what on earth made them think he was the right appointment.
  12. Those two look absolutely dumbfounded. I've moand about this all season, assumed he just wasn't capable, turns out its worse.
  13. Our last 7 games we have conceded 15 goals against, this list is genuinely amazing....... Leeds, Brentford, Newcastle, Leicester, Burnley, United, Sheffield United. Not being funny but if a manager can't stop a defence during that run of fixtures there is something seriously wrong with him.
  14. Even more astonishing when you look at it in a little more detail. 16 goals and 8 assists in the league. In 21 starts!!!!! 19 goals and 12 assists in 31 starts in all competitions. He's the highest in Europe for an under 21 and 7th across the top 5 European leagues, overall. He's an absolute phenomenon and has done all this whilst playing in a mid table side, just imagine what he would do with better players around him.
