Very steady, slick and reliable player. Not sure what happens when Lavia returns. Palmer is just brilliant. City have fecked up there. 2
paulw66 Posted November 1, 2023 Posted November 1, 2023 Frustrating watch. Should have got at least 4. Standard. 1

I counted at least 3 very very promising transitions in the box that should have led to at least a shot He's great when we don't have the ball. Not good enough with it in the games we dominate possession. 1

Agreed, he’s got a habit of turning in to players when he’s trying to create space, or not picking the final pass and he really should be scoring a few for a player who has a good shot on him, other than that he’s been good this season.
Original 21 Posted November 1, 2023 Posted November 1, 2023 Comfortable in the end and a clean sheet. That was the minimum result we should be getting. Good work out for James and Badashiele. Palmer and Sterling were lively upfront. Jackson seems to have buckled under the pressure of having to be the main man. Not his fault really. Going to be a long way back for him. 1

Holymoly Posted November 1, 2023 Posted November 1, 2023 A win. Well that was a turn up for the books. Fingers crossed for Port Vale.

Rob B Posted November 1, 2023 Posted November 1, 2023 1 hour ago, Bones said: Yes and Enzo being such a good passer I cant understand how he is not able to shoot precisely from the edge of the box in every game We had exactly the same conversation in our household this evening. Awful striker of a football for someone so technically gifted. On the game generally, wasn’t a classic, but an hour for Benoit and Reece (who even though he obviously lacks sharpness, will so clearly add another dimension going forward) another good performance from Palmer who was my MOTM and Sterling, Cucurella and Big Les all decent. In terms of the not so positive, Jackson looks a completely different player to the one we saw in pre-season and the first 5 games - I’d genuinely consider loaning him if we sign a striker in Jan and Nkunku remains fit. Sanchez looks to be a great shot stopper but truly awful with his feet. Almost got robbed again with the ball at his feet, and as others have mentioned Gallagher is limited in games like this. Tottenham away from home on Monday is the game you play him… 1
Original 21 Posted November 1, 2023 Posted November 1, 2023 Our reward is we get to play Newcastle at home. 1

east lower Posted November 1, 2023 Posted November 1, 2023 To be honest I quite enjoyed watching Blackburn tonight. Don’t get me wrong, very pleased that we won but the instinctive and organised play in that game was played by them. Full of youngsters, who are clearly good footballers and look well drilled and coached. Their number 23 looked like a bag of bones but hardly put a foot wrong when he had the ball all game. Lacked a forward but so do we. A few nice moments from individuals tonight but once more we played a slow, laboured game. Whatever is getting coached is rubbish or the players are rubbish or they’re not listening.
Dwmh Posted November 1, 2023 Posted November 1, 2023 I'll read the other comments soon. My reaction - rubbish. Imagine playing a full strength Leicester team, 20 points higher than Blackburn. Very very poor.

chara Posted November 2, 2023 Posted November 2, 2023 At times..well most of the game it looked like a bunch of very talented youngsters playing another bunch of good youngsters with really no sign of ever losing the game, Plus injured players getting a good runout.......Carabao Cup but why the sneers?....are the Arse and Manure fans getting solace from that?....whatever they may say WE ALL know it hurts! Bit disappointed about the draw..have a gentle little Port Vale story I was bursting to tell!

xceleryx Posted November 2, 2023 Posted November 2, 2023 One of those "get the job done" type of performances that. Good to come out of it without any further injuries, but certainly room for improvement to be had. Newcastle up next will be a challenge. Overall a win's a win at this stage.
My Blood Is Blue Posted November 2, 2023 Posted November 2, 2023 Didn’t watch, so can’t comment on the match, but glad we’re through. The draw not been kind to us, but at least we’re in it!
