I hope Southgate doesn't go with TAA in midfield again, it just isn't the answer and isn't needed. I would go with:

Pickford

Walker - Stones - Guehi - Trippier

Gallagher - Rice - Bellingham

Palmer - Kane - Foden

Bellingham will obviously join attacks, but we need him to be fluid in the positions he takes up, allowing Foden to come into the no.10 position and likewise Palmer.

However, I think he will pick the same team. There's no chance of him dropping Saka and he'll persist with TAA in midfield for some unknown reason.

Foden is wasted on the wing. With a right footed left back, we need the LW to be a proper winger, not a 10.

I just don't know how, or if you can get Bellingham and Foden together in the same team. Unless you drop Kane, and play Bellingham as a false 9 like he does at RM

I think they're playing Kane as a false nine at the moment.

Say what you like ( and i've said plenty) about Lukaku , at least he's where you'd expect the CF to be ( mainly because he never moves , but , you know )

You are absolutely right. I've probably done a bit of a Southgate and tried to force the players into the system. He definitely won't drop Kane and I worry Foden will end up being the man to be sacrificed as Southgate just doesn't really know what to do with him and golden boy Bellingham won't be dropped either. You could still play a 2 with Rice and Bellingham and then move Foden into the no. 10 role and someone else wide left. The problem is that Bellingham doesn't seem to want to play so deep and has been in tremendous form further forward this season.

Bellingham - Rice

Palmer - Foden - Gordon

Kane

No way the "Vibes merchant" is dropping Trent , Bellingham won't allow it , gotta have your dance partner for those celebrations. Bellingham is calling the shots here which is why he's playing where he wants , with who he wants and why Foden is playing out of position too , last game out we had three right backs on the pitch whilst Chilwell was on the beach , Vibes.

3 right backs and the best one also on the beach along with Chilwell.

Interesting challenge for Southgate we should win comfortably yet if he plays it politically we could end up in a draw or loss situation.

We had three players playing out of position against a poor Serbia side and held on to the narrowest victory.

With Trippier seems we can do nothing about this, yet for Foden and TTA, if we stick with the same line-up they should be benched.

I just don't know if Southgate possesses the strength of character to do it.

I've no problem with Saka on the right for England as he provides first time the crosses strikers and midfield runners like. Southgate did change him last time for Bowen which was a decent change.

Can't see Palmer playing unless we get a couple of injuries in the attacking areas.

Some tips for your Gareth…

Don’t play a RB at LB.

Don’t play a RB at CM.

Don’t play an 8 at 10.

Don’t play a 10 at LW.

Do play the young player of the year who had 42 goals and assists over the season.

Do play the player of the season in the position he plays so well for his club.

Stop trying to force the big name players into your team, instead work on a system that suits your squad and if that means some of them have to miss out, so be it.

Don’t be so negative.

Let your creative players play their natural game.

According to Southgate, it went wrong because we were missing Kalvin Phillips.

My advice: Play the players in the way they play for their club sides both in position and tactics. All our top clubs (and most top European clubs) play high and press high. Stop being so timid and cowardly.

Desperate to mention Phillips,  he went to a top club in City and could not hold down a position so was moved on.

He might be referring to Phillips ability to hold the ball as some of our players seemed to get knocked off of it.

I was thinking on Maguire towards the end, we seemed to have four defenders back beyond their forwards as though we were terrified they might get a break, was thinking Maguire probabys brings the ball forward.
