Southgate still gets it wrong Gallagher should be ahead of Bellingham but as Bellingham is on a glory trip he's telling Southgate where he wants to play regardless of where the team need him most and in my opinion that's partnering Rice.

I'd rather be watching a party political broadcast. 2
Holymoly
This is why I don't care about international football. Scotland were more fun to watch than this team.

Imagine winning the CL under a great manager such as Ancelotti and then going to the European Championship under a useless one like Southgate - There’s got to be some fallout and Bellingham has been invisible for the last two games. Bored witless by the last two games and 60 odd minutes of the first match. I thought Germany before a ball had been kicked, but the Portuguese have so many attacking options, they might just win it. The one thing that could stop them is if Martinez tries to actually manage them and ball’s things up. 2
chara
Unfortunately my lunch plans only turned out, eventually, to miss the first 10 minutes only.. The second half I could barely keep my eyes open and I had no alcohol with the meal. The lunch was far more "interesting" than the game,,,for those who may be interested here is the follow up to my earlier post...stop now if not interested! Mrs C hates cumin and unfortunately unknowingly ordered a dish that was aswamp with the stuff...... this after an overindulgence in appetisers that were as good as remembered......it is an "authentic" owned place with some difficulty in communicating but after a great deal of mime etc managed to explain the problem to the wait staff....plate whisked away and Mrs C was told which dishes had no cumin,,including our young waiter,,,only been in the USA for two weeks...bringing out a small mix sample for Mrs C approval and eventually a new huge dish of cumin free something. I in the meantime enjoyed my massaman (spelling?)curry with the highest heat request,,they offer 5 levels!.... a meal and incident of little interest to others perhaps but far more exciting than anything else that followed!😄🍛🥢🥡

My favourite side are Italy , no real big names , just a team moulded into a unit better than the sum of their parts by a proper coach . I don't expect they'll win it as Spain look really strong but that's who I'd like to win and why.
Sciatika
A big part of me hopes that Gallagher and Palmer are left on the bench. No team playing under Southgate is going to win anything, and I know how this works when Chelsea players are involved. I remember Ingerland fans booing John Terry and Ashley Cole during a game in the noughties

I don't think the Italians have enough goals in them to win the whole shebang, but they do punch just above their weight, unlike our side who punch well below their weight - The value of a good coach there, I suppose. Spain could do it, but the Portuguese look strong all over the pitch and have options in most areas. The latter or Germany for me to win it. 47 minutes ago, Sciatika said: A big part of me hopes that Gallagher and Palmer are left on the bench. I remember Ingerland fans booing John Terry and Ashley Cole during a game in the noughties Indeed to the first bit, don't forget they booed Lampard as well - All three of them did nothing but try 100% in every game for England and didn't go along with the feigning of injuries to miss friendlies or the San Marino type games, such as a good number of the Man Utd and Liverpool based players did then. The booing of our players is one of the two main reasons for my almost complete apathy when it comes to the England national team. The other is the insistence of the FA to appoint manager-after-manager who make good footballers play badly and at levels way below the level they display for their club teams. It's a comfort blanket for me, when the inevitable tournament failure occurs.

I mentioned this fact on Reddit yesterday and was roundly ridiculed about it by supposed Chelsea supporters at my "victim mentality" they didn't like it when I questioned their credentials and am absolutely convinced they were then pretending to be London based for internet clout , the lot of them on Reddit are an absolute cesspool of imbeciles and that was on the Chelsea sub reddit not the Arsenal run "soccer forum"

Not many who will have seen those England games or heard the abuse directed at those 3 players. You could hear it on TV clearly at the time. Great servants to country and club, all three of them. Media reporting on two of them contributed heavily to the mindset of the easily influenced, god knows why they booed Frank though - possibly because he wasn’t Gerrard, who I add constantly underperformed in an England shirt.
