Michael Tucker Posted July 30 Posted July 30 The U.S. elections for 2004 are kicking off shortly, so if you have any sensible comments/observations, here is the place to post them/share them. Anywhere else on thee forums and they'll be deleted. Any comments deemed to not be 'sensible' will be deleted. Enjoy.
Mark Kelly Posted July 30 Posted July 30 Years ago politics and politicians were statesmen who could argue their points with forthright politeness , now it's abuse , lies , and social media influenced Chinese / Russian bots bring everything down to a debased level. I miss the old days. 1

Bush beat Kerry 🤔 Edited July 30 by Ham 2
Bob Singleton Posted July 30 Posted July 30 I found this interesting. I'd seen a few speeches where he said he didn't need people to go out and vote for him and I just thought he was also having a 'senior moment'.

Do you know it went down to Florida and about 50 votes. Kept recounting . Different each time. Just gave up!! 1

chara Posted July 30 Posted July 30 With the greatest of respect..... I live here...I see what is going on and the disgraceful behavior of ,in particular, The Media. and all involved in the machinations of the up coming election, Most sensible real people are torn not really approving of the candidate of their party but aware a vote not cast is a vote for the opposition party. As ever oversimplification, Mrs C has just returned from the UK and has mentioned how she saw the UK reactions to USA politics...again with due respect...save your real energies for the UK/Euro politics and don't try to analyse from a great distance what is a vastly more complex situation than the Biden/Trump Harris/Trump match up media circus. In other polite terms....... Don't judge based on Media bias or agendas...on either side of the political divide. 1

Popular Post My Blood Is Blue Posted July 30 Popular Post Posted July 30 After careful consideration, I have decided to close down this topic. I understand that this decision may be frustrating for some of you, and I want to take a moment to explain my reasoning. Political discussions, especially in the current climate, tend to be highly disruptive and often lead to significant division. Our forum has long upheld a rule prohibiting political discussion, a rule that has been in place since the early days of our community and has continued through to the present. I feel that maintaining this rule is crucial for preserving the respectful and cohesive environment we strive for. Political debates can easily overshadow the purpose of our forum and lead to unnecessary conflicts, detracting from the valuable and constructive conversations we aim to foster. I appreciate your understanding and cooperation in adhering to this rule. 4 1
