I’d imagine we’ll see changes for this one.  Something like this perhaps?

Jorgensen

Acheampong.  Disasi.  Bada.  Chilwell

Casadei       Matos

     Mudryk.      Chukwuemeka       George

  Guiu

I think Barrow may be a step up in quality for Badashile

Would we set a new world record for the shirt number total? I think that's probably held by the Liverpool team that beat us on pens under Pochettino.

I think KDH will play maybe even Tosin

I think you're probably right on KDH, I guess this was more what I'm hoping for!

Given Tosin's cameo against Bournemouth, I have a feeling we might see him against West-Ham, with Fofana moving to right-back.

That’s all I know about the place. Sorry.

Oh, but have you seen their badge and the home kit? Then you will realize what the place is best known for...

Is it wheelbarrows? Ah, no, I've got it. It's nanotechnology, such as wasp-guided arrows.

I slightly disagree - I think there are quite a few players closer to the First XI that will need proper minutes here. I could see something like this tbh:

Jorgensen

Acheampong  Disasi  Tosin  Chilwell

Casadei       KDH

Sancho/Madueke      Joao Felix        Nkunku

  Guiu

I dont see Chilwell playing over Veiga.

Stick Casadei in the midfield.

He might do as the rationale for including him in the squad was to put him in the shop window - apparently.

Lol Barrow in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy. This should be a mauling. But we should be playing kids for this non tournament and we all know how that can go

Put some kids on the bench, maybe start 1 or 2, but i'd be using this to get minutes for those that may not see many minutes in the league this season; Jorgensen, Badiashile, Tosin, Chilwell, Veiga, KDH, Casadei, Guiu and Mudryk. We want to keep them as match sharp as possible as with our injury 'luck', they'll be needed at some point.

I am absolutely in favour of having an A and B team for the first half of this season. A team to play Prem games, B team to play the cup games. I would also try and play a fairly settled 11 in the B team so they can gel a bit and show what they can do.

Keeps the A team fresh, rested and hopefully less injuries. B team get the minutes they need to develop, or put themselves in the shop window, and will have match fitness if called upon for the A team. Could also help with motivation a everyone will get  to play some games and there will be the carrot/stick of being promoted/demoted to either team.

In January we can take stock, see where we are in each competition and the manager can make informed decisions on how to trim down the squad to one that can maybe rotate a bit more

The danger, as ever, is forgetting however lowly a cup opponent side may be all the players are pros not Sunday morning amateurs, They only need to raise their game as a one off unlike the prima donna toffs who have to play to a top standard every game and may assume it's a given before they kick a ball and mentally switch off.

If Chelsea or any side assume their higher status is enough to overcome the opposition then the banana skin appears.

The idea of a back up side in the cups isn't so bad an idea given players have something to prove but still the danger as noted above should the mind set be wrong.

I don't expect many youngsters will be involved given that the U21s are playing League One opponents the same night the first team play League Two opponents! But George and Acheampong didn't play for the U21s yesterday so hopefully they get starts. I'd like to see:

Jorgensen

Acheampong Disasi Badiashile Veiga

Casadei KDH

Neto Chukwuemeka George

Guiu

Subs: Bettinelli, Adarabioyo, Chilwell, Colwill, Fernandez. Mudryk, Madueke, Nkunku, McNeilly
