Some of Jackson's play with his back to goal was absolutely top class. The assist for Palmer's disallowed goal was fantastic. They showed a clip in the analysis on MotD2 but noone ncommented on the skill he showed.

I would say it's something the whole team have worked on. Receiving the ball on the half turn, being able to take it, and more importantly want the ball, under pressure,  in tight situations but keep hold of it, make the turn and move it forwards. It's very noticeable in literally all our players and agree, Jackson was exceptional at it yesterday.

I saw a clip of a City goal, I think it was from this weekend where they went from front to back and Haaland scored with his right foot. The body shape of all their players when they get the ball is the same and it's something we are beginning to do. It is so simple but makes a huge difference.

Regardless of the nature of the game in the second half it's clear to me that we have finally got a decent coach with a definable idea of what he wants the players to do , a way to achieve his aims and the players to facilitate it.

We are a decent side once again and had it not been for a brain fart against Liverpool we'd be higher in the table than fifth .

We need to really make a statement against a dreadful United who seem to have the evil eye over us ,

ManU will be coached by Ruud van Divealot. He really disgusted me when we played against him. A true cheater. Watch out for a possible cheating match de lux.

I have to say , it’s nice to see this forum as a generally happy positive place. We’ve all been through a lot in the last few years so I think we deserve a bit of joy.  We had two or three super negative posters who seemed a little too desperate to prove their point and frankly I’m glad they have gone on to pastures new. We are not perfect , that much is obvious. Sanchez remains ( as many suspected ) a weak link in our chain. We are also an experienced CB short . But those issues aside, I now look forward to every single game.
Too many positives to go into now but suffice to say that no team in this league holds any fear for me. On the contrary, they now all fear us.
Well done owners, well done Maresca…I have a feeling that Chelsea are back ( nearly).

It’s because of Marina 🥰🥰🥰

Let’s go for a “sacked in the morning” chant when we bang in the first goal.

After a couple of mad years, it's nice to see things starting to settle down both on and off the pitch.  Even the rumoured problems between the owners has quietened down lately.

We had rightly become a banter club but now we're starting to be taken seriously as a team again which is great to see.

At what point are we allowed to praise the sporting directors and owners?

At the end of the season, if we've qualified for the Champions League!

What's happened to the site?

Kumbaya everyone 👍🏻

Maybe Cole's wand of a left foot has calming powers as well!🪄

or.. gulp...  it's dawning on us that maybe we have a real football coach and team rather than a "jobs worth" ?

Contentious one this but I cannot help but feel Jordan Pickford would be a massive upgrade to the team. Not world class, I accept.

Pickford and  Sanchez are very similar. Both are good shot stoppers and both are plagued by massive attention deficit and excessive impulsiness.  Some of Pickford's mistakes make Sanchez look  strong and stable.

Both keepers struggle badly when they're given options  -  play lomg or short, play to A, B, or C, keep hold of the ball or release it,  come for the cross or stay put, etc. Stoppimg a  shot is different as there's is no ifs, ands, or buts.

Signing Pickford would be like that owner of a red  Subaru sports car who needed  something less temperamental on the road  and instead came home with a red Subaru sports car.

Struggling with this one mate. Pickford is a much better keeper than Sanchez will ever be.

That's the bottom line..

My, far from definitive, input ? ?,,,Pickford was such a good, very under pressure, young  keeper at a relegation doomed Sunderland, Lot of shot stopping and what I call "Alamo" games...overwhelming attacks and going down with glory,,(overrated for me,,you walk off defeated, never nice),

His long-term England presence cannot be disregarded although it can be argued that not many options for Gareth over the years, A lot of very similar, good but not quite good enough at an Internationa,l level choices.

Pickford just didn't seem to take that extra step up to be a great,,a half step maybe that gave him an edge over the rest.

The question is for anyone to make their own judgement,,who would you prefer in the Chelsea goal,,Pickford or Sanchez ?

Fair enough; I'd probably agree with you  that Pickford is the better of the two keepers. But his weaknesses are almost identical to  Sanchez's. They are both prone to unmitigated impulsive errors  I don't see how we improve our goalkeeping position by replacing one calamitous keeper with another calamitous one

We need a cool-headed keeper that the back four know what to expect from in each situation. I don't think Pickford ticks any box for me in that respect

Sanchez.

But realistically you're looking at two keepers who're on a fairly level playing field, just with their own set of deficiencies and strengths.

Perfect world the answer is neither.
