Mark Kelly Posted October 27 Posted October 27 We have to have ball playing defenders the same way we have to have a ball playing goalkeeper. The goalkeeper can't keep goal and the defenders can't defend. 1

He was woefully late when he “injured” himself and twice now played the Newcastle attacker onside. For me Fofana and Sanchez are our weak spots and costing us goals. Offensively we are very good. We are a few top class signings in defense away from being able to challenge the top three.

Mark Kelly Posted October 27 Posted October 27 Seeing as Jackson is piss poor in the air and Newcastle have Schar and Burn who are excellent in the air, any idea why we keep spamming crosses into the box?
exiledblue Posted October 27 Posted October 27 Neto and Palmer playing well. Sanchez shocking distribution, Madueke needs to be less predictable. The rest doing OK 1
Mark Kelly Posted October 27 Posted October 27 A decent half undone by poor positioning in defence and a brain dead oaf in goal. Part ten million. 1
Floyd25 Posted October 27 Posted October 27 Performance dipped as soon as we conceded, we are fantastic at shooting our selves in the foot aren’t we. 1
NoblyBobly Posted October 27 Posted October 27 Newcastle are a decent side but I can’t understand how we aren’t home and dry. I think we will win this though.

Hope you’re right mate. The downside of being young and inexperienced is that you’re hard to predict. Can go both ways, but I wouldn’t be surprised if we’re hit by a sucker punch early second half and then fall apart. Or we go out and blow them away 😊

The rest doing OK Madueke has been largely rubbish since he scored that hatrick Neto having by far his best game for us! Worryingly, Newcastle looking stronger as the game went on and is not so good. One of the off form teams in the league now giving us a good game is so typical of us in recent years. Less said about the defence the better.
My Blood Is Blue Posted October 27 Posted October 27 Started well and generally played well, Neto having a good game and Palmer is unbelievable. Ref dodgy as per usual and our problems at the back continue. Need to get control of the match back and use our pace against their back 4, every time we’re able to get them 1 on 1 or in a foot race, we’ve got them beat every time. Could be a match for Mudryk.
Ham Posted October 27 Posted October 27 Special mention for Jackson whose hold up play has been brilliant so far. Palmer's first touch is on another level. Neto, Caicedo, Lavia all very good. 1
My Blood Is Blue Posted October 27 Posted October 27 Awful defending for their goal, nobody picking Isak up at all.

martin1905 Posted October 27 Posted October 27 Quick couple of pints at half time. Suprised to see no one mention Reece James for their goal, let Isak just go, entirely his fault, yet I'm seeing Fofana getting grief. 1

Sanchez is doing his best to make it a more even playing field.

James was lazy. but way too much space out wide initially Edited October 27 by NoblyBobly

Anything less than a win will be a bad result! Will also be only one or two points from the last 9 , which again is not good enough. 1

chara Posted October 27 Posted October 27 Missed "their goal" live,,having a Delboy/Rodney morning,,,but replays that I saw didn't seem to show any lines and eye said marginally ofside,,,but I am biased!
