chrisb Posted November 1 Posted November 1 That Keegan interview is still one of the best manager interviews out there. It’s up there with Ian Holloway and Gordon Strachan! 1 2

It’s up there with Ian Holloway and Gordon Strachan! Ian Holloway - a man who really knew how to do an interview - enjoy: "To put it in gentleman's terms if you've been out for a night and you're looking for a young lady and you pull one, some weeks they're good looking and some weeks they're not the best. Our performance today would have been not the best looking bird but at least we got her in the taxi. She may not have been the best-looking lady we ended up taking home but it was still very pleasant and very nice, so thanks very much and let's have coffee." "I don’t see the problem with footballers taking their shirts off after scoring a goal? They enjoy it and the young ladies enjoy it too. I suppose that's one of the main reasons women come to football games, to see the young men take their shirts off. Of course they’d have to go and watch another game because my lads are as ugly as sin." "Roy Keane's like a shark. He has those eyes. You don't know if he is going to buy you a drink or eat you." "I watched Arsenal in the Champions League the other week playing some of the best football I've ever seen and yet they couldn't have scored in a brothel with two grand in their pockets!" "On David Beckham getting a possible knighthood: “Sir David Beckham? You’re having a laugh. He’s just a good footballer with a famous bird. Can you imagine if Posh was called Lady Beckham? We’d never hear the end of it!”" ...and finally, an old favourite: "On Cristiano Ronaldo: “He’s six foot something, fit as a flea, good looking – he’s got to have something wrong with him. Hopefully he’s hung like a hamster – That would make us all feel better. Having said that, me missus has got a pet hamster at home, and his c***’s massive.”" 11
CarefreeMuratcan Posted November 3 Posted November 3 The next 2 home games are absolutely huge. This and Villa. We are on the same points as both of them. It's absolutely crucial we win both if you ask me. Home advantage has to count. Our home form has been great, if we keep that up and with the opposition having to spread their starting players across Champions League games whereas we can fully rotate, we should really really take them to town. 1
Bert19 Posted November 4 Posted November 4 I think @CarefreeMuratcan is right about upping expectations. We dropped two points for no good reason yesterday and now it feels like there's more urgency to win at least one of the next two home games. It'll take a raise in level from the last 3 or 4 Prem outings, but we should be going for the win here. Even if a draw is actually something that could be considered a good result.
KingThistle Posted November 4 Posted November 4 Their defeat this weekend was the worst thing which could've happened. They travel to Italy Wednesday but they have the extra days rest before the game Sunday. A point at Old Trafford and a loss at home to Arsenal and we're stalling already. A real statement to the rest should we win - plus should we do so then their title tilt is in tatters. 1

How very Chelsea to waste the easier opportunity for the 3 points in favour of having to beat Arsenal and in-form Villa 😑

If one of them was away, or both away, I'd be cautious. But we're at home, other than the drabness of that opening City game, every home game has felt like we have laid siege to the opposition goals, the 4 points we dropped against Palace and Forest were our own fault, we were creating the openings, just not taking them. Both of them have injuries, they both have CL games going into the games against us, and they are both actually in bad form recently. If we draw or lose, it won't be because we will play bad. It will be because we lose the game in our minds. I feel like that's what happened at Old Trafford yesterday. Our players let the image of "we are playing Manchester United" get to them, rather than the fact we are better on the pitch. 1 1

I wouldn't call them in-form anymore.

They'll be playing something like their best team in the CL whereas we'll make 11 changes and so we'll be fresher at the weekend. 2

I do get that the club a wary of injuries but I do wonder if we are losing a bit of consistency / momentum by playing the "A" team "just" once a week. 1

We're out of the League Cup now, so I'd hope for a little more consistency around 6, 7 and 8 players every game. Prioritise and rotate specific games not specific competitions. 1

Bert19 Posted November 5 Posted November 5 @Ham their "injury crisis" seems to be about as convincing a crisis as them being ravaged by Covid and missing exactly one player. Two weeks ago, they were title favourites and somehow became complete underdogs at home against Arsenal a week later. How very odd 🤨

Chelsea_Matt Posted November 5 Posted November 5 We owe them. And I want that snide **** Havertz to pay for what he said - that winning the CL would be much better with Arsenal. He’ll never know. 👀💯🖕🏻 1 1
Sciatika Posted November 5 Posted November 5 He'll change his mind when it's the only one he wins. 1 1

Arsenal are next level snidey shitbags though so I'm desperate to not only win but dent their non chances of winning the league and leaving a massive amount of egg on Arteta and Havertz faces . 1
