  1. I think most of us would have experienced a range of emotions yesterday, but bringing that kind of experience off the bench was a huge positive. We've got goals in us and I like that. Never want to go back to that team who conceded first and then stood no chance of coming back.
  2. Agree with a lot of the above posts. In my case, it feels like I've been waiting for Pochettino to pass a certain threshold (which is more based on capability than points achieved, etc) and I now feel he's kind of there, whereas before I was doubtful to say the least. That's not to say we're not going to have further bumps in the road, but I can now look at him and think he actually does know what he's doing. The players like him, we score goals, we've shown bouncebackability and somewhere amongst that, there's the makings of defensive solidity. If that can be improved on and we could add a couple of experienced reinforcements, then I think we can fare better next season than most clubs around us - and that might even mean top four (when I look at the mess United and Spurs are in, and how Liverpool may fall into decline post Klopp). So I'd definitely stick rather than twist, especially when I see the options we're linked to. I would hate to give this team to a Mourinho or a Hansi Flick and watch them rip up the good parts and have us start again.
  3. Enjoying his demise. Can't wait to see him at Everton in a couple of years time, desperately trying to "run it back".
  4. Enjoyed that. Really good week. What we're doing at the moment is working, so credit to Pochettino for finding a formula (even if it did take a while). Sheffield Utd and Burnley were bad moments, and Arsenal was the lowest of the low, but we didn't slink off to the beach and I struggle to find fault with anything that's happened since. Onwards and upwards (hopefully).
  5. That was good all round. Really can't fault anyone out there tonight for us. Also, without resorting to say we've turned a corner, I do kind of feel that we might finally be onto something.
  6. Great player, wonderful man. I just wish we could have signed off with the FA Cup, but I hope he has just enough left in his career to squeeze in a Copa Libertadores. Will be doing a separate tribute for Belle Silva later...
  7. Spirited point. That was a good second half by us. VAR and the current offside system need scrapping because these officials are imbeciles.
  8. Dropping Chalobah and Silva was bad enough, but I also thought Gallagher and Caicedo looked very good in the middle together against Everton - and then that was ripped apart the very next game too. When Conte made that three at the back change against Arsenal in early 16/17, he knew straight away that he'd found a formula. Whereas not only is Pochettino unable to do it by design, he's now shown himself to be incapable of recognising when he's stumbled on something good. That's a bad, bad combination.
  9. This whole project has descended into one of those "who's responsible for the failure of this task?" situations from The Apprentice. Pochettino, Stewart and Winstanley should all be brought back into the boardroom and a triple firing is the only rightful outcome. Magic up another hotel to sell if you have to cover the costs, but just get them gone today. They are three incompetent conmen and if they stay into next season, then this club is screwed.
  10. I've turned it off. I really hope this is about the boyband.
  11. We have to take points off Arsenal because Tottenham will give them all three, before beating City and Liverpool just to confirm their uselessness. That injury list is depressing. If Palmer is out (😞) then Chukwuemeka needs to start, or maybe Mudryk in the middle. I'm sick of the sight of Jackson though. I still think on balance he's a decent signing, but my god I wish we didn't have to stick him up front every week.
  12. Exactly this. Nobody's hands are tied to the extent that they can't do any of this.
  13. Ultimately, they're not the football people. It's down to him to point that sort of stuff out.
  14. All I'll say is that a manager worth his salt would have persuaded the board that Nicolas Jackson up front was not enough.
  15. I experienced that via score updates on my phone and I couldn't believe my eyes at that first half hour! It's well and truly on for us now - seven games to go and a cup semi-final. Fully expected Dyche to tarmac us over today, but looks like we're made of stronger stuff.
  16. Starting to think this guy did all the philosophy, formations and style of play talk.
  17. Sixth place should have been easily achievable this season. The fact that we're still close to it but still floundering is just massively frustrating. Feels like a collective f*** up from everyone in a position of power at this club.
  18. Amazing how in two minutes things can swing from "end the season now" to "we can take United and we can grab sixth place". Means nothing if we mess things up on Sunday. but I just hope we take some sort of proper momentum from this and scrap our way to another few victories on the spin. Deserved. Mount is a proper dickhead and bang average to boot. I only saw through him at the 2022 World Cup when he was always trying to be at the centre of every photo opportunity, even when he had been dropped. He's spent the last couple of years improving his brand instead of his ability.
  19. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  20. Our season is basically: v Mason Mount (H) v Man City (N) v Arsenal (A)
  21. Yesterday killed off any hope I had of us clawing anything back this season. As big a low as that Southampton game last season. And the change we need isn't coming because there's incompetency at every level of this club. The whole club needs direction, and anyone bathing in this belief that everything is suddenly going to click in the place is the problem. I want him to build a wall that keeps Pochettino out of the dressing room and Clearlake away from underage kids.
  22. Absolute joke. I don't care about the league position anymore, Pochettino just needs to fuck off and never darken our door again.
  23. Agree with some sections of that CST letter, but really not on board with other parts. That doesn't represent my feeling at all. I resent them for putting that line out there into the public. This is a good bunch who have been let down by various forms of mismanagement. I feel far more of a connection with the current squad than with some of the ones who threw in the towel last season and scuttled off to our Premier League rivals over the summer.
  24. I'd take a Liverpool title win 100 times out of a 100 over an Arsenal one. As much as Liverpool fans rattle me, Arsenal fans are utterly insufferable. Both online and in person. If our game against them got rescheduled to the penultimate game of the season and we took points off them to stop them winning the title, I'd never let them hear the end of it.
