Where Semenyo body slammed Cucurella to the floor was directly in front of where I sit and there was a discernible 'thump', so there was some force behind the action. Cucurella did nothing but lay on the floor after it and there was no action by him immediately before it either.

He might have said something, we don't know what he was booked for - there might be some information available that tells us that?

But on the face of things for both parties to receive the same punishment for the incident, looked way out of line - For Semenyo, that's a borderline red.

But it's Taylor what do we expect. The only thing he got right was the booking for their left-back diving to try and get a penalty.

Yeah the commentator said he got booked for kicking the ball away but the ball was still in play and he kicked it against the hoardings and so it came straight back 🤷🏻‍♂️

I asked if cucurella is a £60m player?

If he carries on the way he's playing then there's an argument for him being value for money at the end of his contract.

I watched the highlights of the Arsenal game and that decision by Oliver beggared belief.

Is it any wonder so many people within the game want it scrapped!

To think this idiot had the time to watch the incident in slomo and still thought it wasn't handball shows that either the handball rule is so ambiguous that even referee's don't understand it,or referee's are bent.

I think Var has gone beyond it's remit - for offside and handball no - for whether the ball crossed the line or not in a disputed goal yes - for a sending off decision yes the rest is a bloody shambles that is destroying the game.

That Arsenal decision was one of the most baffling decisions I've ever seen.

He's called over to the screen which already suggests that he's made an error but he then watches a clear handball and goes against the VAR advice.

The two most senior refs in England had an absolute mare yesterday.

Both bent if you ask me.

    Unsurprisingly I disagree.

He's done a phenomenal job getting that Brighton team to 10th place this season.

He will move onto much bigger and better things and pretty quickly.

He's clearly got something lined up.

With an ambitious club, he'll do well.

On today's games, I fear its going to be a shoot out for who scores most against Villa/United and my gut tells me City will hammer Villa whilst we'll draw or get a very narrow win.

What do I know about football?

  5. I think my biggest issue with the women's game isn't with the players themselves but with the way women's football is covered in the media

You will never hear a commentator or pundit slamming a female player for a poor performance or a poor moment.

Imagine Roy Keane saying "that goalkeeper is shocking" or "that finish was pathetic".

A ball that rolls over the line from 12 yards is "a worldie" even though the keeper fell over on the way to it.

My pet peeve is when they compare the women's game to the men's game. One example was when Sky Sports asked, in a poll, whether Steph Houghton was better than Bobby Moore.

This sort of media nonsense just invites negativity around the game and the players don't deserve it.

On today's games, I fear its going to be a shoot out for who scores most against Villa/United and my gut tells me City will hammer Villa whilst we'll draw or get a very narrow win.
