If we are looking at the first objective, which is top 4, and if we look at who the serious rivals are / were before the season started, we are 6 points better than Villa, 11 better than Spurs and Newcastle, and 12 better than Man Utd. With all due respect to all the other teams in between City in 4th and United in 13th, I don't see any of them being top 4 challengers over a full season. We could be, by the end of 2024, have a very comfortable gap in terms of a top 4 finish.

How could they "easily" have scored 5 or 6? If we were the better team, then how many could we have easily scored? 7? 8?

I caveat my picks by going only for players I watched, so from 1990 ish onwards.

I think we should be looking to win all of them, but accepting that it is unlikely, just from a statistical standpoint. 5 wins minimum from those, IMO. The quality has always been there, and that is largely why so many have been so frustrated with his ordinary performances. Last few games have been unreal. Now needs to keep it up over a sustained period, but he's clearly a very gifted player.

Imagine this team with a WC goalie. I'm starting to think that having all 3 of Caicedo, Lavia and Enzo in midfield is bordering on cheating. And that's before you talk about Palmer, who is just a cheat code.
