  1. Madueke was poor against Palace, but that Palace.perfomanve came after a brilliant display against Villa. On every aspect of the game, including picking a simple final pass, I just think Madueke is more reliable.
  2. Great performance, but you start to wonder if another manager could not have got us three pointds I had the same thought after our opening match of the season against Liverpool. Our first chance tells a lot about Nicolas Jackson. He had ample time to decide what to do, as the pass was travelling to him. But you could see he hadn't the faintest idea what to do He had eternity in football terms to sort out his feet but couldnt. That was below Championshio standard. He did well with the pass to Sterling. But I would have played Madueke im place of Jackson.
  3. Especially as Nkunku offered so little when he came on. The PL is made for solid, resilient, combative forwards. From what I've seen so far, I'm not convinced Nkunku is cut out for it.
  4. He can't see that the problem is deeper than formation.
  5. I don't care who we get in. A care taker or groundsman is better than a fraud.
  6. We made a lot of money selling some tired horses in the summer. Shame we spent it all on donkeys.
  7. I'll probably add Sterling to that list. No end product whatever, can't find target, just like that one.
  8. To be fair, we look like a side that is neither match-trained nor fitness-trained.
  9. Both Caicedo and Enzo lose the ball too easily. Scary to think they're our CM pair, and both cost a fortune
  10. Which shows he's capable of it We need a lot more from him and Enzo.
  11. When a player he as had a bad game like Caicedo had at Anfield, does Pochettino explain what they got wrong? Caicedo seems to have picked up where he left off at Anfield - doing the barest minimum.
  12. I haven't heard of a single one of them who is doing particularly well. They may be fitter because they have coaches who care about match fitness. That is not to say we would be better if they were still here. I think Pochettino would find it even harder. Because once an old player works out that the manager does not demand too much of them (and I don't think Pochettino tasks his players enough), he would lose interest, and the rest of the team usually follows. No doubt some people would have Kovacic back. I would be interested to know which players you think would have bettered us had we not sold them, Rudiger excluded.
  13. I actually think the massive house clearing was the best thing the club could do for itself and any incoming manager. We got ridiculous money from the sale, thanks to the Saudis. It's a new manager's dream to not have to deal with tried disinterested older players. The only player we miss is Rudiger, but that is because someone from an parallel universe that Kounde was the better defender. So we squandered opportunities to tie down Rudiger, publicly courted Kounde, missed out on him, signed Koulibally (who was never suited to the PL) then splashed absolutely ridiculous money on Wesley Fofana. This young, fresh, and talented squad is a positive. Only a poor manager would make an excuse of it Kante had given up , Kovacic couldn't be bothered, Havertz has been replaced by an equally over hyped Mudryk, Mount had his eyes on Man Utd . The rest is not worth mentioning.
  14. Despite out troubles, I still think Chelsea was an attractive job, at the time of Poch appointment, and remains an attractive job right now. It actually works better for us if some old coaches don't think we're not good enough for them . Look around Europe and you'd find the young coaches are giving the older men a run for their money.
  15. The sun is not a paper that I read. It was meant tongue in cheek as DWMH suggested British papers are more reliable.
  16. I am laughing because you called my post "absolute nonsense", but then you went on to reply. I wouldn't reply to something I consider absolute nonsense. Why would I have a vendetta against a football coach with whom I have had no personal dealings? I think it's ridiculous to think that Thomas Tuchel is a solution to our problem. He left us in a mess. That's my personal opinion. You can engage with that without getting yourself all worked up.
  17. I don't rate any papers, tbh. You can read about German football in Spanish, Italian, and other papers. As you prefer English papers, I've got one here for you https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/25560377/thomas-tuchel-bayern-munich-manager-spain-barcelona/
  18. Yes, on paper, he looked good, having managed at those two clubs. But the question should have been, how will he deal with such and such situations, and are there examples of mighty collapses when you needed him to step up? I think the owners needed someone who could hit the ground running. Pochettino hit the ground but forgot about the running. So, the narrative has now changed; we wanted a project. If we really wanted a project, there must be younger managers with fresh ideas who could grow with the team.
  19. Lol, Humiliated by Eintracht, scraped a win against Wolfsburg, beaten at home by Werder, and scraped 2-3 against Augsburg. So, were all those teams coached by Xabi Alonso? The football reminds me of his last days at Chelsea. Bayern's results are only part of the story. If you follow the German papers, it's all kicking off big time at Bayern right now. And if you're praying for Thomas Tuchel to be released, you haven't got long to pray, I can tell you.
  20. Thomas Tuchel returning is a NO for me. He's picked up at Bayern where he left off at Chelsea. Bayern are a mess on and off the pitch right now and he's barely unpacked his bags. He'll leave them a financial baggage as big as the he left us but with no Saudis to the rescue. JM returning is also a NO fire me. In hindsight, Pochettino was a lazy appointment. If we can't learn from our own mistakes, Manchester United is another proof that you can't make up for one lazy decision with another even lazier one .
  21. I am engaging with your argument, just that I disagree with you that appearance statistics are vital to the quality of a the players and the team. I respectfully argue that those stats are secondary. When Michael Emenalo brought KDB to Chelsea, he had little top level experience. Even by the time Guardiola made him central to his team, all he had was spells at Genk, Werder Breman and Wolfsburg- the equivalent of West Ham, Everton and Aston Villa. Virgil van Dyke was signed from Southampton. Yet both players were immediately central to a team challenging for top spots. Pep was confident he could build a team around KDB, not because he had won some big trophies at big clubs. That is what is lacking in Pochettino. Every single player that played last night performed worse than in the reverse fixture at Stamford Bridge. Caceido now looks like less than half the player we fought for and signed. This is what we should be talking about.
  22. My point is that judging a players quality by what they have won before or where they played can feel like trying to start a family with a woman because she's a mother of 10 children. There are several players that I would like us to replace with better qualities, but when I look at the teams at Aston villa, Spurs, Liverpool and Arsenal, I just think that with a decent coach we should be competing for top four with the squad we have. It's as simple as that for me. And whatever the quality or lack of it in your team, getting them much fit is a good starting point for a coach. They look on the faces of Pochettino and his assistants is like they have been sent to scout on players
  23. It shows how hard to find a good coach. How about the fact that each and every one of these players was bought for their performance, which has now disappeared under Pochettino?
  24. If I follow your logic, Kevin DeBryune was not PL quality when City signed him, because he never really played there. Virgil van Dyke was not good enough to win CL because he never won one, and so on. Why do top teams go chasing young players who have never played at senior levels and not just sign confirmed winners?
  25. Our squad is good enough to challenge for top four spot. It's out manager who is mid table. You may not have followed these players before Chelsea signed them, fair enough, many of us didnt. But you must at least have heard of them in the news. It*s unfair to now judge them based on what Pochettino has turned them into.
