  1. And it never went to bed with an ugly girl but it did wake up next to a few.
  2. There's often a fair amount of who's side lady luck is on in cup competitions. We had some awful luck in the years before we finally won, but in that SF against Barca, as well as the wonderful and incredible never say die spirit, we had all the luck going and in another year could have lost that tie by 7 or 8. Utd beat Bayern after being battered. Forest beating Hamburg in the old European Cup after being second best by a mile. Villa winning it in an appallingly low quality final with a goal coming off their strikers shin.
  3. It's pointless to try and compare Disasi's & Badiashiles performances in the French League to what they are showing in the EPL. The two leagues are worlds apart in strength in depth, so obviously it's much easier to look good in a significantly inferior league. Just look at Liverpool's result against to see the difference. We batter an awful Everton 6 - 0 and a week later the title chasing Liverpool lose 2-0 to them. In our league even the very best only have to be slightly off their game to end up in trouble against the weak teams. Week in week out there is no hiding place for any player or any team. This is why the likes of us and Utd are all over the place and see performances that are up and down like yo yo's. Both can be very good but are they are also consistently and brutally punished when they are not at it 100%.
  4. I'd also rate the pre Roman era of Zola, Vialli and co higher than our teams since 2017. Not only more successful but also a damn sight more enjoyable football to watch as well. They were also a crucially important team in our history, laying the foundations for everything that followed during Romans rule.
  5. The hard facts prove beyond any doubt that the teams of our golden era under Roman were superior to the later years and far, far superior to what we've seen in recent years, including that team which won the CL in 2021.. We haven't won a domestic trophy for six years. We haven't even challenged for the title in 7 years. We won the CL in a wierd season played behind closed doors when we finished 19 points behind City in the league but somehow managed to beat them in a one off game. It was those years which started the serious rot. Those years where we started to look way, way short of the best. Those years where we started to consistently shit the bed in the big games. When we were at our best we were a team which was feared in England and across Europe. We were tough bastards who nobody liked playing.. Every season we were looked on as serious contenders for the title and CL. We were incredibly consistent season after season after season. There's simply zero comparrison between the great Chelsea teams and everything that's followed since 2017!
  6. We are reinventing football with our way of playing. This 'if we don't know what the feck we're going to do from one minute to the next then neither will the opposition' way of playing will surely start to pay dividends sooner or later.
  7. Nuetrals like watching us these days because they know that one way or another our games will be entertaining. Entertaining in a Britain's Got Talent first few episodes kind of way.😁
  8. Some of the "best fans in England" are saying their players are a disgrace and there needs to be a big clearout. They're sick of TTA being a shit defender. Sick of VVD waving his arms about l. Salah should bugger off to Saudi. They come out with that in a season when they've won a trophy and been in a title challenge. I'd love to see how mad they'd be if they'd had the last two seasons we've had to endure.
  9. It does, but I'd actually prefer we sign players off the back of watching YouTube clips than running data through a fecking computer.
  10. For me his biggest problem is that his one real attribute (passing) doesn't compensate for his physical limitations. Fabregas wasn't the quickest but he was a genuinely elite level passer which easily compensated for his lack of pace. Way back to Bobby Moore who was as slow as a coach, but he made up for that by having a brilliant football brain, positioning sense and timing of the tackle. JT another one
  11. With you gone, I guess I should change my name to General Custer.😟
  12. I think most on here will agree with these couple of lines about us from The Guardian article on the game In a way it was refreshing. There is so much heavy systems football around. How liberating to see a team with no plan whatsoever. If you don't laugh you'll cry, so I did have a little chuckle at that
  13. Utd's collapse and very fortunate escape against a Championship team on Sunday was much, much worse than ours. But that same team also showed good mentsl strength by beating Liverpool in a previous round. Chelsea and Utd are the definition of teams which are flaky who blow hot and cold from one game to the next and periods within games. That is different from a team with a poor mentality who always buckle under pressure. The recent game between us was the perfect example of how good and bad both teams can be from one game and one minute to the next. I'd be much more worried if we had hardly any of the good to work on going forward.
  14. Fans are understandably upset but let's try and take emotion out of the responses and examine the whole performance, not just after their second goal went it. After a terrible opening 15 mins the lads started to settle and faught their way back into the game. We were holding our own and looking dangerous in attack but unable to create the clear cut chances. Even so, most of us seemed happy going in only one down and the commentators also saying we were playing well and giving them a game. Then into the second half. As happened so often this season we started badly and that was down to us making a couple of sloppy passes which put us under pressure aftee which we didn't get out of our half again until they scored. I knew a minute they scored a goal was coming and after that we would fall apart, which we sadly did. Good mentality and effort got us back into that game but awful mentality undid that good work and handed the game to them. I'm not going to make excuses for the selection of Badiashile and Enzo Neither should be playing in their current desperate state and that is on Poch! Adding to the selection problems now is the form of Petrovich. Beaten yet again at the near post and simply lost the air of confidence and assurance he had when he came into the team. On this form there's no way we can go into next season with him being our number one
  15. So we not only need Dynamo the Magician to manage us but also Dr Frankenstein as his assistant so he can give Enzo new lungs and legs and Mudryk a new brain.
