Yeah, all sports naturally progress as speed, strength, stamina, training, diet and the medical side too. So it's a bit unfair on those greats from many decades ago being judged against more modern day sports people The only popular sport which I think has actually gone significantly backwards is heavyweight boxing. Today's best wouldn't live with the greats of Lennox Lewis's era, or Larry Holmes, Ali etc.

We played well but let's not kid ourselves about our defence and keeper. If we want to be a top side again, Sanchez is not good enough and no combination of defenders we currently have is good enough either.

We are second with a young team where there is still significant room for improvement.

It would be a risk dropping your number one keeper when the team is doing so well. But if it came off with steadier performances from our keeper, that alone would pretty much secure top four this season.

The keeper and defenders have been given plenty of time to step to the level we need over the last two seasons. Sadly, they are very clearly not up to it and need to be replaced. Although we were the better team and deserved the win, Spurs could have easily scored 5 or 6 today. Too late to do much about the defence this season, but it's time Jorgensen was given a run of games, especially after a solid game against Southampton. Sanchez makes some good saves but almost every week he makes unforced mistakes which causes panic or costs us goals.

The criticism of his performances was deserved. The high praise he's now getting is just as deserved. Keeps this up and we have a player on our hands.

Sloppy last five mins or so but a fantastic win! We've been wanting a needing a statement performance and win in a huge game and this was it! Imo our biggest win in the league since we last won the title.

Likeable guy who gave his all but never quite good enough for us. Certainly not good enough now.

And I want his babies.
