  1. Except in the case of an obvious lack of effort it's never ok to boo your own players during the game. Booing your own during the game is toddler behaviour and nothing to do with supporting the team. Booing after the game is pretty much counterproductive (I can't think that it will ever inspire the team to do better) but more understandable and acceptable in sending a message to the owners and the coach. Whatever you think of Sterling's performance (and today he was guilty of some gross errors), he is definitely putting in the effort and booing him can only damage his confidence further. Pointless and damaging.
  2. We have a long history of having to tolerate just that, from Robert Fleck to Dave Mitchell, Paul Furlong, Tony Cascarino, Chris Sutton, Shevchenko, Fernando Torres to name a few. As long as he is trying his heart out he will get some slack.
  3. Well done to Raheem Sterling! He is definitely putting in a shift and that was a great assist. His confidence is low and we need him to find his mojo.
  4. I don't think you could name many people on here who would want de Zerbi to replace Pochettino.
  5. Great performance. Lauren James is already world class. She has so much time, skill and strength. Rytting-Kaneryd was excellent too. Tactically they snuffed out Arsenal. A great start to the weekend.
  6. I hope your wife's stepson is OK Chara. As you say, perspective ! Fingers crossed for a full recovery.
  7. I've mostly kept my countenance over TT, but my opinion is that he has been somewhat overrated by Chelsea fans. I think he underperformed here, notwithstanding the obvious high point of the Champions League win. My recollection is of frustrating inconsistency and a decline (in the end) in morale and effectiveness, humiliating home defeats by Wolves, Bournemouth, Brentford etc and a sense that he had somewhat lost the squad. The backdrop is of course complicated by the environment of administrative change and the broader context of sanctions and the pandemic, but I can't think of TT as being in the same class as Mourinho in his prime, Pep, Klopp or Allardyce (just kidding 😉). I'm not sure whom I would have as manager, but I wouldn't take back TT, whereas I agree with you that Mourinho would have a galvanising effect on the mentality of the club (assuming the hierarchy could muster the humility to learn the lessons he can teach) and could therefore be a viable option. Conte and Ancellotti are definitely no with this squad. Ideally what we want is nouveau Mourinho - someone manifestly passionate, inspiring and successful but looking to move on up to the Premier League and with the personality to redirect the club strategy and instil some genuine pride in the shirt.
  8. It's certainly more joyous at the moment!
  9. So the short answer is yes you do. Well suffice to say we differ on that. These resources are nowhere near as bad as Pochettino is making them look.
  10. Quite right. I think Jackson will definitely come good. He has, despite his rawness and occasionally awful finishing, still persevered, got himself into great positions and has actually scored and assisted a few. He is passionate and hard working. Under the right coach he will be a good striker/(to use ancient parlance) inside left! We shouldn't be spending megabucks on anyone up front; instead we should be bringing in a solid pro who can help to teach Jackson and help to integrate Nkunku.
  11. Be honest with yourself, do you think we would be in this state with this team if we had Klopp, or Guardiola as coach? My view is that we would be top 4 despite the stupidity of the recruitment process.
  12. To be fair a cracked eyelash can be as painful as a twisted shinpad 😆.
  13. I see that you have threatened 2 members with not responding/debating with them. I'm sure they won't lose any sleep about that, but all this is unnecessary: as I have already told you, if you adopt a disrespectful tone then disrespect will be mirrored back to you. As far as "being alone" is concerned, if you are it is not because your central positions are different from everyone else, it is because you always refer to other members in a disparaging manner. Stop this nonsense so that we can return to a civilised debate.
  14. Max, when you grow up a little perhaps you will understand that your aggressive language and tone is neither persuasive nor acceptable. You may also come to the realisation that going for someone's arguments the way you do is as disrespectful as directly insulting them. Your assumption that your arguments are solid enough to "tear down" the opinions of others is frankly fallacious and silly. I am embarrassed for you. When you stop flailing against imaginary positions and ascribing false statements to other posters, in short show a bit of respect and intellectual integrity, perhaps the rest of us might take you seriously. Until then you are just a clown.
  15. Wow. We score the winner just as we are looking very much second best. It is indeed a funny old game.
  16. And you don't "go for people"? Grow up Max.
  17. You may be right. Such a shame he can't stay fit for us.
  18. I'm hoping Reece James won't be injured forever!
  19. I usually agree with you Mark, but I seriously think Mudryk is a lame duck. He's 23 (not 19) and should be close to his prime. Notwithstanding Pochettino's evident inability to organise and deploy our attackers, Mudryk's incompetence is his own. He is a considerably worse footballer than Jesper Gronkjaer (who was equally quick) and is never going to be adequate for our needs, let alone the star his fee suggests he should be.
  20. Max, you are a constant aggressor on here, so if you don't like it up yer don't go for people and don't take yourself so seriously.
