  1. Can't help but think of Drogba and Costa when reading your description. Proper strikers.
  2. It was a really great evening, the rendition of Nessun Dorma before kick off had me in tears, proper emotional stuff. The game was great, a lot of fun and so good to see players who have been present from my childhood into adult life. All the players put a shift in and looked genuinely happy to be there and taking part. Nice to see a resounding win as well, there was so much class on the pitch! The noise every time they showed Zola on the screens and when he came on was incredible, loved that he was involved in two goals in his 5 minute appearance.
  3. Bought tickets for this for me and my Dad, will be my first game at the Bridge and Dad's first since some time in the 90s! Looking forward to seeing some Legends!
  4. Apparently Eghbali and Winstanley were involved in negotiations. www.espn.co.uk/football/story/_/id/37635595/how-chelsea-beat-arsenal-signing-mykhailo-mudryk
  5. Ah okay. I'm quietly confident Mudryk will get his chances throughout the season. One game may be a bit early to be worrying about a lack of confidence in any of our players from Poch!
  6. Weren't James and Chilwell deployed as Wing Backs (with licence to get into advanced positions frequently) at the weekend, rather than out and out Wingers, due to the 3-5-2 setup and their fantastic mixture of defensive and attacking talent?
  7. Thanks for this write up on Vlahovic, haven't seen a second of him play but if he stays true to the style you've described then he could be a fantastic option for us to have. If you combine his strengths and what I've seen from Jackson and Nkunku in pre-season you have a pretty deadly attacking force. Like you said further down your post, having the ability to change a game where the speedy counter isn't working, is absolutely necessary, especially in the league.
  8. Everton have released their home kit today with Stake.com as their sponsor...has the same company sponsored two clubs at the same time before? Genuinely can't bring it to mind.
  9. Oh yeah, it's absolutely awful! We've had a fair few hand/finger injuries to keepers. Thankfully I rarely get my hands near the shots so have avoided anything too bad.
  10. I don't play at any high level, pretty much 8-a-side on a half pitch in goals that are about 4 foot tall, we change keeper regularly so everyone gets a go (and a rest!) It's amazing how many shots from distance you can stop when you close people down and when I'm in goal (partly cos I'm rubbish in goal, but also cos I try my best to close people down when I'm not) I make it clear that's what I want my team to do! Obviously the odd wonder strike makes it's way in but being well disciplined as a team helps a lot.
  11. He's got to go for No. 5 surely!?
  12. Thanks @My Blood Is Blue had a read through and all looks good to me 🙂
  13. Imagine the stick the club would get!!!
  14. I agree, sorry to see him go. Not sure he was ever utilised correctly but also unsure on just what his best position is. Undoubtedly a talented player, with time on his side, it's a shame he's gone to a rival.
  15. Ahh that's fair enough, it's a great photo nonetheless. That sounds like an interesting career and a very apt comparison between the two music venues, at least the sun had a chance of coming out at Glastonbury! Most definitely, people who are good at things make it look easy (as well as happening to be stood in the right place!)
  16. How about a role where he's introduced to any potential new recruits before they sign, to speak to them and extoll the virtues of "what it means to be Chelsea" selling the idea of what it takes to play for and succeed at the club we all love? The role probably doesn't exist but imho it should and Frank (or JT, or Didier...why not all of them!?) would be amazing at it!
  17. Did you take this Bob? I seem to remember reading (a long time ago, on the old forum!) that you were in some media related field! It's an incredible shot.
  18. Agreed, we have some exciting talent in the squad (and some deadwood who will hopefully be sold/released over the summer!) and hopefully now we have someone who can forge them into a cohesive unit.
  19. Might start a weekly habit from now and see how we do results wise!
  20. I think I might have cursed us to win this by betting on Bournemouth...I usually don't bet on Chelsea matches at all, however today I thought I might try and get a small amount of winnings from Chelsea losing again. It's a good thing whatever I back to win usually loses!
  21. Would be great if he does, been almost supernaturally unlucky with his chances in previous games! If he can start adding goals to what he's been doing then I'd be all for trying to keep him after this season.
  22. Thanks @JaneB and thanks to everyone involved in getting CFCnet back up and running!
