Popular Post My Blood Is Blue
Now that the season is entering it’s final month (thank god!), I would like to provide an update on the current status of CFCnet and offer some background information for those who are new to the site as we’ve been lucky enough to have a lot of brand new members recently. Most members of CFCnet.uk were originally members of CFCnet.co.uk, which was taken over by a gambling company several years ago. The owners showed little interest in maintaining the site, leaving the then-mods, @Michael Tucker and @JaneB, with the difficult task of trying to keep the site running with very limited resources and access. Eventually, I joined them in their efforts to keep the site operational. In January of this year, without warning or explanation, the owners shut down the original CFCnet site, leaving its members wondering where they could turn for Chelsea chat and discussion. Fortunately, @JaneB managed to contact a few members, and we were able to regroup and start planning how we could bring CFCnet back to life.Realising how important CFCnet was to many people, including myself, I decided to rebuild the site from scratch using screenshots of the original site to try and replicate it and keep it as familiar as possible. Between us all, we added the old topics and I was finally able to make updates and tweaks to the site, which we hadn't been able to do for years. Our member count began to grow as familiar names started to find us via social media and word of mouth. We also welcomed new members with new ideas, views and discussion points. Rebuilding the site required time and of course funding (about £60 a month), so I set up a GoFundMe page hoping to cover the costs for a few months and hoped we could chip away at each month as we went. However, I was overwhelmed by the generosity of our members, and the donations covered not just a few months but a few years of hosting and other expenses and I really do hope we somehow manage to maintain this trend of keeping ourselves funded well in advance! As long as new members continue to find us and people continue to donate, we can continue to grow and make CFCnet the best Chelsea fan site on the web. I want to express my gratitude to everyone who has helped us keep going. While this site is only a few months old, we have been around for years and look forward to continuing to serve the Chelsea fan community for many more years. 6 1 2
Mark Kelly
It's already the best Chelsea fan site on the web. It's been absolutely amazing watching you guys pull it all together from scraps and I personally will be eternally grateful for it. 1 1
Blue Moon
Thanks Sam, from small visions do great ventures arise (or something like that), and without your drive and determination we’d still be idly clicking refresh and hoping … But what next? How to further develop the site? With a current hundred or so members, and a prospective client base of several million worldwide, there is a huge opportunity for growth. Do we want it? How to achieve it? How to manage any downsides? Just asking …

chara
Just a quiet sincere Thank You to all involved in the rising from the ashes. The long Colorado,,,and this season Chelsea...Winter means longer indoors and without the wit, wisdom. Chelsea enthusiasm and the at times raspy and welcomed "interchanges" it would be a long trudge through the snow! Awesome grass roots rising in the truest sense.
