  1. Don’t gimme no negative vibes, brother
  2. Joined late, too - just in time for …. What? …. Mudryk scoring? Leeds pretty in pink (what would Normal Hunter have said?)? World has gone mad …
  3. So who are you accusing of being clever, brilliant and beautiful, Max? Wholly unjustified in my case (on all scores), but interested all the same. Or are you trying to get round the matron (@JaneB)?
  4. The missus is out at a choir sesh, so I'm annexing the big telly and watching. From behind the sofa, 'tis true, but watching (through my fingers). Never cared one way or the other about Leeds - before my time, and in any case I've always found them a boring team to watch. Got boxed into a pub full of Leeds and Cambridge at a match near the Abbey Stadium - could tell the difference, Cambridge looked a lot like each other (for some reason), Leeds overweight, brutish, humourless orcs. Eventually exited via a back door.
  5. Great match Blackburn: Geordies. Blackburns keeper has been excellent pens almost certain
  6. They’ve nothing to complain about - we gave them Gallas, Venables, Smith, Greaves, Cudicini and Gudjohnson - and only one a real dud (Parker) - while they gave us Lee, Roberts, Hoddle and Hazard. I’d say they got a fair deal. Even taking into account AVB.
  7. And at risk of repeating myself, they both have something in common - and it’s not a million miles from Shite Hart Lane.
  8. Damn. You’re right. Had been counting on that. So had the cat. He hates it when we lose. I think that damn’ tabby next door has told him about Zooma…
  9. Live on ITV, @JaneB? Alas not - or fortunately, depending upon one’s level of fortitude - it seems that we will be treated to another dose of Liverpool on ITV and Sky. Might watch in the hope that Southampton stuff them. Ever the optimist, me ….
  10. Depends on who is paying, and how much ... to quote Donald ...
  11. Sent to me by a Scouse mate: worth a watch. Can’t disagree.
  12. Freudian slip? Just regained consciousness with no voice worth speaking of - don’t tell me the Chelsea were quiet - and memories of yet another drubbing. The first time I’ve left Wembley with no singing at all, just the sounds of jubilant Scousers in my ears. The smug sneer of the fat scouser opposite on the train home will stay with me a long time. Pochettino might have been inserted into the club as a fifth columnist by our opposition, for all the good he has done. Well, on the plus side, the ST debate is settled: I’m going to be £380 up next year. I’ve had enough.
  13. It’s the nerves that make it worthwhile, @asvaberg
  14. Trains full of red - every scouser in the world wants to get paxo’d - let’s give them their moneys worth, lads!
  15. Well, despite all that, I’m at Wembley today and intend to enjoy myself. Yes, this year I’ll be going alone, Johnny no-mates, couldn’t get a ticket for the boy. Yes, I’ll accuse the ref of bias. Yes, Scousers are filthy players. Yes, the press are biased. Yes, Mudryk couldn’t hit a barn door with a five string banjo. Yes, Poch might be a bit …….. lacking. And yes, I couldn’t give a shit. This is Wembley, for chrissakes. The club has problems. I know that. Can I do anything about it? Nope. But can I make a noise and try to inspire my team? I might have a streaming cold, but that’s tomorrow’s problem. Today is Chelsea’s day. Today we stick it to an ageing bunch of whingers. And if I can follow Sciatika’s lead: “God’s peace! I would not lose so great an honour as one man more, methinks, would share from me for the best hope I have. O, do not wish one more! Rather proclaim it, … that he which hath no stomach to this fight, let him depart; his passport shall be made and crowns for convoy put into his purse: we would not die in that man’s company that fears his fellowship to die with us. … Old men forget: yet all shall be forgot, but he’ll remember with advantages what feats we did that day: then shall our names, familiar in his mouth as household words … Gallagher the hustler, Palmer of cold and deadly intent, Petrovic the impenetrable, be in their flowing cups freshly remember’d. This story shall the good man teach his son; and the League Cup shall ne’er go by, from this day to the ending of the world, but we in it shall be remember’d; we few, we happy few, we band of brothers; for he to-day that sings Carefree with me shall be my brother; be he ne’er so vile, this day shall gentle his condition: and gentlemen in Chelsea now a-bed shall think themselves accursed they were not here, and hold their manhoods cheap whiles any speaks that sang with us upon this day.” Rant over.
  16. Sincerely hope we do (stick it to them).. Also hope that block 538 has more than tourists and “the silent majority”. Won’t forget in a hurry the Windsmore clad “lady who told me to be quiet as I was damaging her enjoyment”. I was singing “blue is the colour”. Any repeat gets “Celery” ….
  17. Looking forward to peeing on their parade …
  18. imply a matter of opinion, @Max Fowler. I can see a good player in there struggling to get out, but can I justify that in empirical terms? Can I heck (mostly because I can't be arsed, let's be honest ...). And do I duck behind the sofa and inwardly groan when he comes on? Of course I do .... same as many of us ... but that doesn't stop me seeing something worth waiting for ... hopefully, my golf coach thinks much the same .....
  19. You make it sound like his plugs needs cleaning, or his battery is flat
  20. Never humble in the face of Scousers, @chara
  21. ... with two fingers proudly raised in salute!
