  1. Afraid their women aren’t filthy enough
  2. Rocket. A controlled explosion in a tube. An admonition. Sounds about right in the current circs
  3. Yup. What type are you? I’m apparently a rocket …
  4. Actually, as an OG, the multiple still works. My ST in Shed Lower is £380/year, or £20 a home match, and a pint of Pride in the Shed bar is £7.30 (I think). Might explain why ST prices are going up …
  5. I assumed - wrongly - that you were advocating a time-lord as the solution to our problems, @chara. Personally, I’m confused by Poch’s weird substitutions, but otherwise he might be the right managed for us in the short to medium term. Certainly this bunch of overpaid primadonna youths seem to be starting to coalesce into a team, so he’s not totally failing.
  6. Quite understand the criticism of Disasi, but only for not raising his head and noting that Sanchez was in a totally ill-advised position (what made him think that was a good idea?) , when receiving a ball from Gusto which more sage minds might have thrown towards the opposition goal. I questioned Gusto at the time, and having watched that phase of play several times, I still do.
  7. Sorry, @chara, but no. This lot need more than a sonic screwdriver
  8. Had to get out the Karcher after the match …
  9. Sterling off for chuk - no, it’s mudryk. Has poch been paid off?
  10. muppets! (odd coincidence: my daughter went with an Arsenal mate and sat … in the seat in front of mine in the Shed lower. What are the odds … ?
  11. At least three of those sound more like syndromes than footballers … hope we are playing masked-up
  12. Similar in Acton, where I was born and lived later in life. My garage had "CFC OK" sprayed on it in the 80s before we moved in, and I never got round to cleaning it off. Come to thnk of it, why would I?
  13. Difficult. Wright didn't play for Millwall? He played for Arsenal, Burnley, Celtic, Nottingham Forest (loan), Crystal Palace and West Ham.
  14. Thought I was a man of the world, @Mark Kelly, but I've not come across rusty but rings - I'm obviously standing in the wrong places! Great night's entertainment, even if it was way past midnight before I trudged home through the mud of South Buckinghamshire, and good to see Jackson, Palmer, Gusto (who really did play with great ... himself ...) and Mudryk playing well. and a keeper who .... kept ..., well, but Sterling might as well have not been on the pitch (in fact I'd rather he wasn't), and Cucu - well, the name says it all; poor guy was trying hard, but no cigar. Maybe a buzz-cut would lighten the load on his brain. Ref may have not given us that much protection, but the game didn't stop and start like a Mark One Mini on a rainy day, the offside was given correctly (at least in my view from the left side of Shed lower), and if there was a VAR review, it was quick and unobtrusive - how nice it was to be able to celebrate without the usual coitus interruptus (for want of a better expression). Odd to contrast between the virtually silent El Poch and Eddie Howe, who danced up and down like a dervish, shouting out instructions to his team, most of whom seemed to treat them with total disregard. Maybe Poch hails from the Y Wladfa region of Chubut province in Southern Argentina, where apparently they speak Welsh. Not too many Welshmen on our team, so his silence would be quite understandable. The whole evening was given a little frisson by the reactions of the tourist couple next to me, who had patently never been to a football match and seemed totally bemused by the Shed faithful - particularly singing such old favourites as "The Shit from T*tt*nh*m H*tsp*r", "If I had the Wings of a Sparrow" and other tasteful ditties. Unfortunately, we never got to see her reaction to "Celery", although I was half-tempted to nip out and buy a stick or two ...
  15. Close, but noticeably offside from the left-hand side of Shed lower.
  16. Mark Bright when he was at Palace? .... except I don't think he played for us ...
  17. Got the goal difference right! Great night out!
  18. As this is the transfer thread, I presume you mean we sell Palmer and Gallagher to the Toon? On the off-chance you don't, I'll see you. Chelsea to win 2:1. Ever the optimist (=bloody fool), me ....
  19. Me too (if you hadn't guessed). Could do with the catharsis of a 6:0 thrashing. By us, of course ... but we're more likely to get this ... https://www.football.london/chelsea-fc/news/simulated-chelsea-vs-newcastle-united-28781520. Both cats are in hiding, and my dearly beloved will be out till late .........
  20. Makes me grateful that our predators only bring in half-eaten mice and shrews plus the occasional sparrow. Cue for half a rabbit ... we do have the occasional visit from the local and ancient badger, but he only drinks from the pond and then vanishes by the same route as he came. Nothing as exciting as cougars, coyotes or bears in the wilds of Buckinghamshire ...
