  1. Newcastle have had some success against us in recent times though think this is one we might actually win as the Geordies having secured top four will likely be thinking about their holidays.
  2. Bad feeling about James think he might end up retiring early.
  3. The only thing with a win against Newcastle is possibly they will have nothing to play for having already secured top 4. Still it would be nice for the fans to see us score a couple and gain 3 points,
  4. Yes I think we will see movement this summer and winter to sign and move on those we need to. The new owners have made a tricky worse by signing a number of questionable players given our needs without offloading many and to think this can all be remedied in one transfer window is a bit optimistic.
  5. With a summer with the squad and the squad trimmed down with 2-3 new additions think we will make the top 4 or at least top 6. His second season think top 4 and see him winning one trophy. Don't see him winning the league yet think he will leave us with a more balanced squad.
  6. Emma and the team did well, thought Utd might edge this due to their attacking players. The BBC stats state Utd had 52% possession, 14 to our 8 shots, 5 to our 4 shots on target and 2 to our zero corners. So we certainly had to work hard for this and it will be interesting to see how the team changes next year with Harder moving on.
  7. Forest have won 2 of the last three matches and Chelsea have lost the last two home matches. Forest can potentially go down and we are safe. Would expect us to go a goal ahead and then take our foot off the gas and pay the price. Hopefully I am wrong and we take all 3 points...............
  8. Can easily be forgotten with all the noise coming form the red half yet half of Merseyside also supports Everton.
  9. Pleased for Frank, gets the press off his back for a while.
  10. Then you had the quote from Alan Hansen on BBC, you will win nothing with kids and it has been interesting watching Arsenal trying to cope with winning the league...........
  11. Yep I remember Dixon towards the end and being about 9 goals away from catching one of our earlier great's record in Tambling yet they still moved him on and I thought it was sad. I also think Kante should not be here next season, a big salary and probably not suited to our style of play and also becoming more injury prone.
  12. Chilwell was a great attacking player and so was James though James has been a shadow of himself before getting injured again. It looks bad for him as whatever issue he has it is getting worse. If we play with three CBs you need WBs that can attack, at least one of these has to play or we go with a back 4. We do seem to be buying a lot of wingers suggesting at some time we will play a different system yet then we need the defensive improved as Enzo cannot do this alone.
  13. Interesting that he mentions the best city three times in my opinion. Not too much to take from this though he reiterated being here for the long term. I saw Moneyball by chance recently round at my brothers and was surprised I had not heard about it before. You then get to thinking about whether the concept would work for football and I don't think it does as football is a flowing game rather than baseball which is more about set pieces in comparison.
  14. We are in a right pickle just now. The match fans wanted Potter out and they got it. Frank has come in and it is worse. I actually blame TB buys a lot of players for TT and then sacks him. That alienates some. Then he buys a another group of players meaning Potter has a huge squad rather than a settled squad just needing some tweaking. There is no way he can give good 1:1 coaching with many. Another group less than happy. Then we have the contract situation telling Mount to accept or be sold........... There is no way the squad is motivated. Like some of you have said probably best to use some of the younger and newer players that still show enthusiasm.
  15. Re Ziyech It's a sad situation bringing on a player that should have gone in the last transfer window...........
  16. I think we might win a domestic cup yet the quest for bigger silverware will be further down the line.
  17. 1. I think he and Clearlake are now wise to the fact that they screwed things up re FFP and the negative to using long contracts. If not further problems ahead.......... 2. I think as businessmen they will recognise the mark-down on players we deem surplus to the squad. 3. Playing for the new manager should convince new players now they are in for the long term so if this is keeping players away as businessmen they will change that model.
  18. Perhaps the 'football gods' are delivering a message to Boehly about pulling a smart move against the League with the player amortisation initiative. We are not really being hammered just are not scoring. If I am right once FFP gets rectified this summer we should see progress again.
  19. Credit to the women's game staying within a 1 goal deficit until the final whistle, was a good effort. For a spell in the second half we even looked the better team.
  20. Moyes has done well to last this season, a lot wanted him gone he stayed long enough for Antonio to get fit. He will probably be there next season.
  21. I don't think it matters who we brought in , having had the odd ESP experience I think Boehly and co have got a karmic backlash from trying to pull a fast one on FFP by using ammortisation. If correct should come together once we get back on track with FFP this summer.
  22. I personally would not have Lukaku back too egocentric and likely to mouth off at the press the first time things don't work for him. I think Poch will have someone in mind we don't know about that can do a job and probably for a modest fee.
  23. His sister Lauren looks heavy too, his weight may not be something he can change easily. It is a shame though.
