Seems so bizarre because ultimately we need good pitches, if dozens of fans urns start turning up at the end of the season for interring relatives under the pitch I'm sure at a future point the groundsman would be scratching his head at the thought of drainage and other potential issues.

I think within a couple of weeks probably Spurs away it will come together, new signings gel plus injured ones back and we will start clicking. Fortunately 2nd leg of Dortmund comes later yet seems a big error not including the new CB, Badiashile in the CL squad.

I used to go mainly in the 90s up until mid 97. I only started supporting as I was getting too much pain due to injuries when playing and a friend from my first job recommended Chelsea. I was about 20 years old. Watching the game was one thing yet I also was intrigued by the singing and within a couple of games had migrated to the Middle of Shed terrace. There was a chap perhaps in his ealry 30s, barrel-chested and he could hold and carry a song really well. Seemed to have a GSOH too. He used to stand in the upper middle more to the White Wall side. I think his name was Mick and he had a well trimmed moustache. I had a go once at starting a song and it was really awkward as I started well on the 'give me a C', paused 'give me an H', pause and by the time I got to ''S my vocal chords were tightening badly and some of the chaps around me joined in too. I knew then I was never going to compete with MIck yet still enjoyed joining in the chorus of other songs. Come April 92 the friend that recommended I start supporting also advised me not to got to the next match as the rumour he had heard was West Ham were 'going to take the Shed'. I thought he was mad as the Shed seemed like an invincible institution of English football and besides I had already agreed to go. Now this was before Mourinho, before Zola and before JFH our forward players were the likes of Dixon,Wise and Cascarino. At our meeting place in the pub across the road from the club, it might have been the Cross-Eyed Newt only one turned up out of another expected four. We waited drinking until 2.50pm and then gave up and headed for the ground. In getting to the ground and walking through the crowd at 2.55pm it was ominously quiet and then I made up my mind I was going to have my second attempt at starting a song. We pushed through the upper middle to the normal spot and I threw my arms into the air and bellowed out 'Caref....' and before I got any further the Shed chorus had joined in and the song then echoed around the West Stand as the players kicked-off. We won 2-1, Wise and Cascarino. Was not aware of any trouble, yet could not see or hear Mick and the attendance was lower than expected. I did not start any other songs yet did often help other songs to get momentum as I noticed when we were often not playing well the atmosphere sometimes lifted the players.

I used to stream the matches yet this season can't , currently waiting to cash in a small pension. So largely following on forums and BBC web or radio. Picked up with the highlights on YouTube and it is all Chelsea just two from Fulham where Willian has a run into the penalty area and lays it off for Cucurella to put in a great block and then Mitrovic with a decent speculative effort from way out. The rest was from us, Havertz efforts, Gallagher efforts, Enzo and Fofana. Badasheil looking very good as does Enzo. Other times I have watched and we have struggled to have more than one decent effort. I think we will come good later this month and then kick on, too many changes and injuries too close together.

Sterlng is on the bench so might be worth bringing on in the second half.

I think we will win by two clear goals yet being Chelsea there will be some sort of drama.

Yep it is a bad joke, never heard anyone sing that line about the knife and think it is a really good tune. These ultra-progressive types are really annoying. Through a social group I used to go to was a chap that does Morris dancing and used to think I was a nutcase about politics until the PC brigade went after the black-faced Morris dancer that was meant to represent the Moor from centuries past. He got upset about it yet then they changed the face to green. Hopefully something happens like this with the Welsh anthem.

The Mail generally have a lot on Sport. I used to read the Times when working and they had Tony Cascarino doing the sports reviews, always thought he was decent and fair to us even though a section of our fans were on to him straight away even before he had played a game for us.

Jorginho was a great servant for us in difficult times especially post Sarri. I think with Enzo coming in, it was only fair to let him go and even if that was to a rival.

You are younger than I thought, I too recall that Arsenal period and it seemed ages before we could beat them. Think it was under Ranieri and Bridge scored a cracking goal. Think they will win this season yet not next season, think a number of top sides are rebuilding this time which will make next year more competitive.

When I re-joined a few days ago we were at 47 members now at 60 which is a good sign. Another improvement for me is I can use the like button more than once per visit which I could not before................
