  1. Having no Palmer is certainly a blow yet magnified by Gusto being out too. Yes Chalobah can play RB yet he is terrible up against fast dribbling wide men who will turn him inside out, cue Martnelli.
  2. I suspect the Haaland sale, and I suspect Swiss Bank accts were used. Now do the football authorities have the clout to get Interpol to crack Swiss Bank secrecy, I know the US government did this for US citizens using Swiss Bank accounts yet that is the biggest global power not a football association.
  3. I think the officials favour the big clubs on decisions, also players like Walker are England nailed-on starters and Pep will likely go ballistic if his player is sent off. Don't think refs want that grief, unfortunately it becomes herd mentality. Was watching Utd yesterday and the amount of holding Maguire was doing on Sims off the ball was surprising and nothing given.
  4. I thought two were marginal and was nailed on. I thought Grealish's handball was more of a penalty than the Coventry's one yet different officials.
  5. He was good under Conte with the angled runs as a WB as a RB is less effective offensively yet he wins a corner there, So we keep them under pressure.
  6. Pep's blown it again! Also we still have some bragging rights left against Arsenal too. Now we need Poch to keep the lads ticking over for Saturday though I still think City are strong favourites.
  7. Good morale booster before we meet Pep and Co.
  8. There was once with Drogba though just the once I remember.
  9. I remembered this from pre-match as I have some odd relatives too. Did you get to watch it after all?
  10. It would be interesting to see Jackson Mudryk Palmer Madueke The only issue is we lose Gallagher unless he drops into M/F.
  11. Listening to the pundits yesterday on UTD saying it is chaos football and this is also said of us. Southgate has also now gone 4-2-3-1. With the amount of forward pressing leads to the defensive weakness and in our case not helped by missing Colwill, Chillwell and Gusto. Using Madueke means Palmer has to move more central where he is less effective and Jackson had a shocker probably should have taken him off 20 mins earlier. A bad day at the office, we move on.
  12. Went for the win then saw the line-up and confidence levels dropped. Had a feeling Sterling would score today............
  13. Nice to beat that lot from Manchester and now the media pressure swing is towards Ten Hag.
  14. Chilwell could take the initiative and retire from internationals at least until he is able to play over 20 games a season.
  15. Yes hes does come across as smug. Personally think we should have had a penalty when Ramirez runs into the box on the ball with two Arsenal defenders sandwiching her and in a desperate attempt to stop her one dives in front of her......... must be a penalty in my book.
  16. James did not have a good game, did some decent things defensively yet offensively was unable to make a difference. She made wrong decisions and started to take it out on the Arsenal players getting booked, The players that did have chances lacked composure. At the risk of sounding biased the ref seemed to let some things go unchallenged when it was fouls against our women, Arsenal were the better team on the day and fatigue might also have been a factor.
  17. My father liked fish and chips with a wally or pickled gherkin for those not au fait with London slang. In my 30s to mid 40s loved the chilli and especially the first chilli oil they served at Pizza Express which was electric. Couple of years later seemed like they had made it milder perhaps too many complaints.
  18. Negative passing hardly started with Poch it was here long before, Lampard and Tuchel for starters. Coward persona, he has benched our most accomplished defender in Thiago Silva. Recently he has developed a habit of bringing on late subs to win matches, Gallagher against Leeds and Chukuwuemba and Madueke against Leicester. Mudryk has been moved into the centre and looks better. He has been willing to experiment and move Palmer to see where he fits best. I see most of this as positives.
  19. A lot of chances fell to Bellingham and Foden that were not converted. I thought Bowen did ok. Toney also looked comfortable for a first start. A concern point for me was the Belgium counter at least twice they out numbered us in defence.
  20. I thought during the match with Utd Liverpool did not get any favours Utd might have done with Bruno staying on with at least one suspect challenge yet thought for the most part was even. Interesting to hear that Klopp lost his cool post match, still on for a treble yet guess he was beginning to believe the media hype that is was their year to make history.
  21. True and we get more tickets too without the FA Cup top brass being there as is the case with the final.
  22. Yep I noticed that as well. I don't think it was fixed yet they don't help themselves. Well at least Klopp can only a achieve a treble now and not the quadruple.
  23. Glad we are through though knowing it is City suggests our run is over I hope we at least make them work for it. I liked Gusto, Palmer, Jackson and Caicedo today. Good goals from the late subs and nice to see Chilwell fit again. Sanchez and Sterling both had some very dodgy moments and could have been taken off.
  24. I grew up to in South London and remember Liverpool and in secondary school Palace being popular. Found it funny when I started going to SB after realising due to injuries I could not play as people from both schools would come up to me. Some of them I didn't even know liked football. Occasionally would watch in a pub though you do get a few idiots that seem to want to fight people when they lose, an Arsenal chap and his foul mouthed girlfriend come to mind.
