  1. I don't recall ashley putting in many crosses though was defensively magnificent.
  2. I heard a couple of weeks back that Saudi Arabia and UAE had joined the BRICS partnership. Not sure if that will impact football ownership in the near future.
  3. Nice to see England put a performance together to stop Ireland getting the Grandslam.
  4. I've also heard Colwill has a toe injury.
  5. The context here will be interesting. My understanding was she was in a taxi, it could be she thinks the police were racially stereotyping the car it would certainly not be the first time. This could get messy.
  6. Cole has been our best player to date. Having said this I have noticed a couple of times when we gel attacking wise with slick passing leading to a chance on goal, Palmer is not normally involved. Weird. He has not worked as a 10 so stays wide on the right yet Mudryk looked promising there recently. No easy answers unfortunately.
  7. Yes at our ground, 0-2 loss in 2012 under Di Matteo and two score draws under Ancelotti and Ranieri. Forgot about Gordon was thinking more about Guimares, though of course Gordon can also be a match winner and lets not forget that Almiron can have one of those occasional blinders.
  8. I went for the win though had doubts once I realised we were playing 3 CBs.
  9. I hope not, we should be beating Newcastle at home for me, having said that I can remember them getting the odd win when we were much stronger than now.
  10. After a week's break I think the advantage of being at home is less, due to Newcastle having more time to prepare. Also we always seem sluggish after more than a four day break, let's hope they do to. Betting odds will be probably be evens. I'll wait until I see the line-ups....
  11. I enjoyed it too. I also liked Charlie Musonda I thought he looked very talented yet didn't know where his best position would be. He thought as an attacking player yet he came through in the Conte period when we had Hazard, Pedro and Willian. Two points on this being timing and the Manager is willing to take a risk. Shame he didn't make it at a younger age and at a higher level.
  12. i could see Real Madrid buying him as a back up keeper, a bit weird a club of their status using a loaned player.
  13. To be fair some commentators on-line recognise we have sold well making the net figure well below a billion perhaps 750m or near-abouts yet the billion 'dollar/ pound' flops is a more catchy headline and so they go with the gross figure for purchases. It is about media cashing in using hyperbole to get more online-hits. The BBC here have coverage on Wolves getting no sanctions for two seasons of losses. we have the concept of precedent in English law not sure this would work for us yet interesting none-the-less. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/68456113
  14. Hope you are right yet for several seasons we have struggled to sell our loaned players. Assuming that trend continues then we will need to let some of our current first XI leave. Do we know when the authorities tell us how much we need to recoup by 30th June to avoid harsh penalties? If it is a short period then you have your work cut out to get the deals done promptly and as this is public knowledge it will be a buyers market. Not pleasant and accordingly the papers will make the most of it, as that is their role and function and hyperbole sells.
  15. Disappointed by the first 11 thought it was asking for trouble, though Poch said it was due to 120 mins vs Liverpool. Early on playing out from the back looked very suspect and it cost us. Up front a good energy and especially with Mudryk who was even chasing down their keeper. Once they levelled at 2-2 we could have gone out as Leeds looked better than us at times. Nice to get the win and I would not be surprised if we get into the semis.
  16. I think we will win with players wanting to show they are better than at Wembley. Of course if they don't then expect massive pressure to be levied against Poch.
  17. Chilwell I'm on the fence on as Cucurella is like the Scarlet Pipernel and I don't think Lewis Hall sees himself as a LB. We only have Gusto at right back unless you think Gilchrist can play there or want Disais as cover. Madueke might be worth keeping as an impact sub, although Palace might be his level. I want to see Nkunku start as a No.9 so we can judge him better i agree a pure holding m/f would be good. If we sell Sterling don't think we can just rely on Mudryk though guess there is Jackson.
  18. We had no midfield bench cover and Chilwell was on a card. Who would you have substituted out of interest?
  19. Very disappointing not to win as clearly some of their better offensive players were out. We had a crack at it, yet could not score, no shame in that and the scoreline difference was just one goal. Seems to me we had a lot of nervous players at the start with a number of them in their first Wembley final. Also when players were tired we had no midfield cover on the bench yet the media are never interested in our injuries. Now we have the FA Cup and think we will make up for our missed chances today Let's KTBFFH.
  20. You should have asked if she had got the event confused with the Flower Show! I do recall a match in the Away End at Old Trafford when Dixon was playing and the fans were so noisy you could not hear the person next to you until we sang ten men went to mow, and the whole end crouched even the couple with a bowler hat and the lady wearing office wear. A hard fought 0-0. The atmosphere exploded when we got to ten men as the all the Utd fans sang against us and my ears just buzzed with noise. Nothing topped if after not even FA finals.
  21. Now this might be clever mind games by Poch or he has genuine fears about the officials https://www.football365.com/news/news-carabao-cup-final-pochettino-chelsea-refs-liverpool-klopp-farewell
  22. I guess like most a little bamboozled by COV-ID. On the matches he mentions at the World Cups re the Golden generation this is WC semi vs France with a lot of CFC players on display and Hazard looks the most fouled from the highlights. Belgium had chances most fell to Lukaku whose reactions were too slow or off target.
  23. Went through and some was interesting. Felt his best football was under Conte even though he did not like the training. Was being courted by both Manchester clubs yet by chance met Roman Abramovich on holiday in Southern France and Chelsea had just won the Champions League. Champions league football was important to him. Emenalo was the translator for the meeting. Was surprised by Abramovich's knowledge of football and amazed when they asked him what position he wanted to play in. One manager he did not mention was Sarri, I guess he is not complementary. He won the most MOTD award count and had a percentage of 25% only one beat him on the percentage at 26%, Luis Suarez who played just 110 matches. On Madrid, he had the ankle op in Dallas and then COV-ID hit so for two months post op he was doing recovery exercise on his own, thinks now he should have requested help.
  24. Haaland missed a couple of sitters, so happy with a point.
