  1. Agree with you chara. Kepa has cost us some points but our lack of goals has cost us a lot more! I Unlike City, Arsenal and Liverpool of previous years, we can't put ganes to bed long before the end. Week in week out our games are going into the final minutes with points still up for grabs and sooner or later that must start taking a mental toll on the players constantly having to fight for every point for 90 minutes every game. We know we are in trouble against any team which scores one goal. Our young players trying to make their way can't start or come on and play in a relaxed and confident team. All of this is down to lack of goals and creativity, not Kepa!
  2. Kepa was having a decent enough season but the mistakes have crept back in over the last couple of months. He's got stick for the second goal, but a taller, stronger, more confident and dominating keeper would also have come out and punched the cross from which they scored their first goal. I like his character and was willing him to become the keeper we paid a ton of money for but I'm afraid that will never happen! We need a very steady 7 or 8/10 level keeper rather than a 6 who sometimes reaches that higher level. Same can be said for quite a few of our players too btw.
  3. That was the impression the commentators got from listening to Felix talking to the press during the week
  4. During the match on Saturday the commebtators talked about his future at Chelsea. From what they have heard, he might well sign for us if we qualify for the CL but probably won't sign if we fail to qualify.
  5. The only difference I can see between what we're seeing now and a lot of the performances under TT is the lack of goals from defenders which bailed us out under TT. What else do we have in our creative locker apart from spamming crosses into crowded boxes and hoping someone gets on the end of them? Also, why is that Kane continues to perform at his best in a very average team? It's simple. He has the talent and mindset to do things when he gets the bal, which is what real talent is able to do. Sad fact is, we don't have anyone in attack or midfied of that level, just a lot of ok players who show flashes of talent here and there and that's been the case for years before GP became manager.
  6. Even with different managers and different players the fundamental flaws in our team remain the same and go right back to Sarri taking over. We move the ball far too slowly which results in us constantly facing packed defences. We have no high quality creative CM to open up a team. We have zero defensive steel in midfield. We keep on sigining these bits and peices midfielders who make no significant difference in either half of the pitch.
  7. Doesn't matter. He cost us two points! This glaring weakness has been there all season.
  8. No lack of height with our central defenders but we continue to struggle with set prices. Koulibaly is terrible when faced with a player running at him. Turns like an oil tanker and at his age this will always be a liability in the EPL. He should be sold in the summer.
  9. It shouldn't be too difficult to strike up a deal which deal which suits club and player. The owners make it clear to Lukaku that he is surplus to requirements and will not play for the club again and make a deal to pay off a percentage of his contract (say half of it) if he will move to another club. I can't see any of the big clubs English going for him now, so we'd be lucking at a bargain basement price. Even so, that would go towards the pay off and we'd finally be done with him. Seeing that Lukaku doesn't need the money, I very highly doubt he'd do a Bogard and waste the last decent years he'll have in a top league.
  10. Decent chance of beating RM but I wouldn't give us much chance of beating City over 2 legs. Capable of keeping them quiet and knicking a win in one match but they'll turn it on in one of the games and that will be enough for them.
  11. I think that's true with Ali but not Pogba and Lukaku. There have been countless more naturally talented footballers than Lukaku who had far worse careers. If anything, Lukaku over achieved for a player with his technical ability with a ball. Pogba was always overrated and just another flash Harry who produced occasional moments of high quality. Never had the consistency, grit and real heart and passion for the game when things got tough. Having said that, he's a World Cup winner and had a decent enough career overall. Ali was a real talent though but washed up at such a young age. I have no idea why it all fell apart so quickly for him.
  12. I'm in favour of this format which will now make it a proper tournament well worth winning and might one day even surpass the CL in terms of prestige. However, there's already far too much football for the top players, so something has to give and here's a few way to help fixture congestion. Scrap qualification for major championships for the major countries in Europe and scrap the pointless Nations League. League Cup only for teams outside of European football but give the winners a place in the Europa League for the following season. Reduce the size of the CL with only two teams from each country with one of the places going to the winners of the FA Cup. That would give the FA Cup a big boost in importance and with a lot more of the big clubs being involved in the Euro League from the start, that too would gain in prestige.
  13. Dislike Everton almost as much as the other lot in red. Hope we duff them up really bad and put them back in relegation trouble.
  14. Thanks for posting that, Mark. Really enjoyed that! Simple, old school, good time rockin music. Would loved to have seen them live at their peak on a nice sunny day with 50,000 LS fans.
  15. There is a difference between the missed chances by the other players mentioned and those missed by Felix. Unlike the those other players, Felix has not been guilty of a lack of composure, blasting the ball high and wide or fluffed a chance with a poor touch or feeble shot. He has hit almost every chance with good composure and technique and been a couple of inches away from having a very good goal tally. The only thing he might be guilty of is trying to be fraction too precise with his shot placement, something which Havertz has also been guilty of.
  16. I watched the movie again and on second veiwing i think I did the film an injustice in not rating it as a classic movie. It is up their amongst my all-time favourite movies now
  17. The only two LS songs I know are Freebird and Sweet Home Alabama. Liked SHA and rate Freebird as absolute classic. Don't know why, but I just never got round to checking out any of their other songs.
  18. I think City are clear favourites this year with only RM being a team capable of stopping them. Having said that, I think we are capable of beating RM and every other team left in the comp.
  19. Looks like we are over the very worst but there is still a way to go with the rebuild Also, imho we shouldn't be looking at short spells of good, poor or indifferent results. Instead, take an overall look at how we are doing at the end of this season, then look again to next Xmas and see if there's gradual but consistent improvement over longish periods of time. Looking ahead to this time next season, I think we should be good enough by then to be in a serious chance of top four. If we're not, then I think GP will be in trouble.
  20. Yeah, what a waste of talent!🙁 Had all the technical and physical ability needed to become a great player and Chelsea legend, but threw it all away.🙁
  21. illogical - Doug Rougvie.
  22. We should all take into account that we are less than a year into a major rebuilding job. Even if we win the CL there would still be a lot of work to do on this team and squad to get us back to challenging the at the top of the league. Long way to go but I have faith in GP getting us back up there.
  23. Luck went our way for a change but we fully deserved to go through over the two legs. Pleased for GP and the players but also the fans who've had next to nothing to cheer about this season.
  24. I'm **** at predictions but I think we'll need another goal to go through.
