Most worrying though is that after 2 seasons in the wilderness will Chelsea get invited into an ESL?  My guess is no.

It seems that the PL were canny enough to realize that this would reappear at some stage so have basically banned any PL teams from joining it (if it is to be reborn).

Isn't that precisely what the new ruling prevents, punishing clubs to apply.

I realise that PL isn't covered, but it is the same act and can be challenged the same way here in UK

I would think you are spot on with that.
I wonder how many PL clubs have their lawyers scrutinising that PL charter right now.

So Bayern, Atletico Madrid, and Man Utd have all come out and distanced themselves from any Super League.

This new proposal is shambolic. The aim should be to improve the share of money and the lot of the teams outside the elite, not this American style nonsense.
