  1. Indeed! Just carrying on at our 2024 level we'll almost certainly finish 4th at worse. That is unless there's a significant improvement from a Villa, Spurs, Untied or Newcastle and I honestly don't see significant improvement in any of those teams. I expect Newcastle and Spurs to be the level they are now. Villa to fall back with Utd maybe overtaking one or two of those three but not enough to keep up with us. Sort our defence out and we'll seriously challenge Liverpool for third.
  2. Just like to add this bit. Also, as great as he is, I don't like watching Pep's teams either. Everything is so controlled and coached to the enth degree to make it almost machine like. You know what your going to see over and over and over again. Every performance looks the same as the previous one.
  3. Loaning back to Shakhtar would not have improved him. He'd just continue to look good in a much lower standard league. Also think it would be a disaster to loan him out afteecywo years here. It could mentally crush him and ruin him for good. As we saw on Saturday with that goal, there is definitely a talent there. There was another excellent example of it last week when he burst through into the box controlling it with a great touch while running at top speed and getting off a good shot. He's still very inexperienced at this level for a player of his age. Stating the obvious, but only time can give him that experience and with experience he should become more consistent.
  4. Tuchel did care, I'm not disputing that. We only have to see that an old Messi well past his peak was named player of the last wotld cup to see the quality has declined across the world. Lots of decent to good players, but very, very few genuine great players. As for me not enjoying TT's football. That's just my own opinion. Nothing more. Others prefer more pragmatic football and I can understand why they do. I just love watching this young team finding their feet as individuals and as a team. Loving the incredible, bonkers games we're involved in, but understanfing and accepting there will be bad moments and bad games along the way back to the top.
  5. You've named a group of players who couldn't score in a wild weekend in an Amsterdam brothel. Deadwood who were taking this team nowhere and had to be moved on. Proof of that is we're now one of the most potent attacking teams in the country scoring almost twice as many goals by getting rid of that deadwood. I'll take a charity bet right now with this prediction - top 4 next season and a title challenge the season after. That's how confident i am about this squad and its potential.
  6. Happily, it looks like Poch is going to have a very different kind of team selection problems next season. Rather than who's fit enough to play, it's going to be who the hell is he I going to leave out?πŸ™‚
  7. I'd never heard of him until today when one of his videos popped up. More rumours. David Ornstein is saying Utd want Poch.
  8. A peaktime JT fluffed his lines in the biggest cup final there is, so what's your point? Do you judge a player on one great moment (and it was a great moment) in one big cup final, or judge them on what they do week in week out for their team? Facts. Jackson's first season after a major step up in the level he's played at before. He's outscored an experienced Havertz who's had the luxuary of playing in a much better team. In Havertz first season at Chelsea he scored a whopping 4 league goals. In his second season he scored 8 league goals. In his third season he scored 7. So, in his combined three seasons at Chelsea, Havertz scored 5 more goals than Jackson has in one season and Jackson still has 2 more games to play. End of debate!
  9. YouTube 'football therapy' guy said Poch has clarified his position and would like to stay if the owners want him. Don't know where he heard Poch say that btw
  10. Errr..my point is the price of olive oil has rocketed lately
  11. Morata was blessed with a lot more natural technical ability than Jackson but unfortunately half of Jackson's character and mental strength.
  12. Not just that, but also when we do get back into games we don't sit back and settle for a point, no matter how late in the game it is. To win the league these days you've got to be brave, be prepared to conceed goals in the attempt to out score the opposition. In 2024 only City, Arsenal and Liverpool have won more points than us, with Liverpool winning only one more point. Hard facts which prove the team is improving and improving at a fast rate now.
  13. I was talking about the Premier League. Cup football is a completely different ball game. Furthermore, imho, the depth of quality of the teams in Europe has fallen through the floor in recent years. Barca are a shodow of the team they once were. Worst Bayern Munich team in many years. No great Italian teams. France has one team and next to nothing else. No great Dutch teams anymore. Sporting Lisbon and Benfica are bang average. Belgium no longer has any good teams. No teams at all in Eastern Europe who are any good. Teams can take City in a cup format (even fecking Wigan did them) but over a league season there's not a team in Europe who'd be anywhere near them week in week out year after year. Us winning the league again would imho be a far, far greater achievement than winning another CL
  14. Yet in a much worse team he has managed to score more goals than any Arsenal forward. Furthermore, he's had a consistent season while Havertz was crap for the first half of Arsenal's season.
  15. Klopps Liverpool team were being let down by their defence and keeper. The team moved up levels overnight with the signings of Alison and VVD. Problem is, game changing keepers and CB's are very few and far between these days. Lots of OK ones but not many who'd turn a good team into title contenders and winners.
  16. If he stays, working in his favour next season will be not having to significantly improve all areas of the team. Of course he'll want to continue the progress in midfield and attack, but defence is now the one clear area of weakness so more time can be spent on that.
  17. Just watched the Poch interview after the game. He talked about the first 10 games being difficult but over the last 26 we are the 4th or 5th in the league in points. This team will have to regress next season not to get top 4.
  18. If Fury is half as good as he thinks he is and with his huge size advantage, he should walk right through Usyk and stop him by half way.
  19. Performance doesn't matter it's all about winning. We don't give a good performance but win yet now there's criticism of the performance. The fans at the match went wild again and got their money's worth yet again.πŸ™‚
  20. We have also played games without Enzo and looked awful. We didn't have him today and looked awful for long periods. I thought Gallagher looked knackered today and had one of his poor games.
  21. As much as I love entertaining, attacking football, if any team wants to be up there with the best, they all have to learn to win ugly and that's what we did today. In recent times we were in serious trouble against any team who scored one goal, but now we have the firepower to scare any team. Imho, that's the biggest problem which has been fixed this season. Liverpool have been doing this for years. Not played well but had the likes of a Salah or Mane to get them out of trouble.
  22. The coms just mentioned we've scored nearly twice as many this season than we did last season. An astonishing imptovement! We'll be league champs if we improve our defence as much as that next season.
  23. Nah, just a regular Chelsea game mateπŸ˜€
