  1. I'd like Mudryk to be given one more season because I still think there might be a player there. At the moment the stats are there to back up the opinion that he's just not good enough. No goal or assist in his last 10 games. His pass percentage is in the lowest 7% for players in his position. He's high on the list of losing his one to one challenges. Even his biggest supporters can't argue with stats like that. However, there was one moment yesterday which showed the quality he possesses. Running at top speed and leaving his marker for dead, he ran onto a beautiful pass, controlled it instantly and then managed to get off a good shot at goal. He somehow has to find the consistency to be that player week in week.
  2. During his combined 3 and a half seasons at Utd and Chelsea, Lukaku scored one goal against a team that was in the top 6 at the time of playing them. The ultimate in Premiership bottle jobs when playing for a big club against the top teams.Unlike Lukaku, Jackson is a very raw and inexperienced player at this level and one that should only get better. You can twist his stats any way you want to, but most fans will be pleased with his goal output and hard work for the team this season. In today's money, £30 million is looking like it's going to be a great value for money signing. Jackson for 30m. Palmer for 40m . Gusto for 35m . 3 of our 4 best players this season for the price of one Lukaku has been outstanding transfer business by our much maligned transfer dealing duo.
  3. And here's me thinking she might be one of those Only Way Is Essex girls in her own spin-off show. Absolute Filth!😡 Right, where's my old dvd of Rockin With Seka.
  4. Hall wants to play for Newcastle, so the club is doing the right thing by moving out a player who's heart is eslewhere.
  5. The last three performances have been good but imo we shouldn't be taking too much from such sort sample sizes, be they positive or negative. What we can see over a significant enough period of time is the team is improving. Not only does the team look a better team on the eye test but the stats will back it up. Along with that, commentators, pundits, rival fans are all saying we are improving and enjoying watching us as well, which is an added bonus. For the neutrals, this is possibly the most well liked Chelsea team since the days of Zola, Vialli and co.
  6. I have no idea who this Debbie lady is. Honestly!
  7. Imo, there have been periods of quality play all season, but they were cancelled out by no end of brainfarts, poor play, poor team selections, players playing as individuals, too many chances created but not finished off and some sheer bad luck at times. Now we are seeing a hard working team, more good individual moments, better balance in the team, fewer brainfarts and a bit more luck going our way too.
  8. Losing Gallagher would significantly damage our chances of top four next season. Would be crazy to sell a Chelsea boy who is one of our most important players and right at the time when he's forging a very good partnership with Caicedo. I want Chalobah to stay too. He'll be a very good squad player for us and get plenty of games as a rotation player and sub.
  9. The Spurs thread wasn't busy though. It has only 290 replies, which is way down on the 533 for Villa, 563 Arsenal, 445 Everton. Even Sheff Utd had 387. So far today's has only 168.😟
  10. Too late to be thinking about catching them though. But which team do you think will be starting next season as favourites to get 4th, us or Spurs? Imho, right now we are the 4th best team in the league and will start next season as hot favourites for 4th.
  11. Believe me, I'm not a wishy washy bleeding heart. I'm quite strong on crime and punishment, but I also believe in giving people a second chance after their first offence, but only a second chance. Not third, tenth or 50th like some scum are getting away with, with these appalling judges.
  12. I sponsor two animal charaties so it's clear where I stand on cruelty. While I do think there are crimes where there should be no chance for someone to redeem themselves, as horrible and wrong as it was, I don't think Zooma's crime falls into that category. If he is truly sorry (only he knows that) then he can learn from this and become a better person for it.
  13. Also a good sign that he's learned a lesson after the criticism over his recent displays of petulance and selfishness and that the team is more important that the individual.
  14. Bit odd this. The better we are doing the fewer posts there are in the match thread.
  15. Once the emotion of his return has faded, the grim reality would soon set in. He really is the last type of manager this set of players needs at this point in their development. Not only many years past his best, but completely the wrong style of football for this league in 2024.
  16. I can't get my head around fans wanting us to rip all this up and do away with an attacking team and go the exact opposite way with boring, defensive, pragmatic football. If Poch is sacked, then at the very least we should go for a manager who would continue with the attacking football. Sadly, I think the decision has already been made and Poch will be sacked and my hunch is Jose will return.
  17. We either accept there will be bad performances along the road back and get on with it, or we keep flipping from saying we're improving one week but Poch is shit the next. Imho, we are very clearly improving and have been for months now, but I accept that there will still be more bad days ahead too because we are not by any means the finished article yet.
  18. They need to take some breathers when they can during the games. Long season, tiredness, injuries, aches and pains along with the warm weather too.
  19. And Palmer needs a big pay rise as well this summer!
  20. Too many don't want him here for him to ever be more than a couple of poor performances away from calls for the sack to flare up again.😟
  21. Connor only seems to score really good goals.
  22. We've struggled a lot against this lot in recent years and I expect the same today. First hot day of the season after only two days rest might also be a factor. Imperative we score first, if we don't I can only see us losing.
  23. He's done well and better than some of our forwards for sure. But being better than the likes of the awful Sterling and Mudryk doesn't mean he's the level of player we need to get back to the top four and eventually challenge for the title again. CHO was given plenty of time to prove himself at Chelsea and imho at no time did he look to be the level we need. After his disatrous loan in Germany we had little choice but to move him, though selling him for 3 million was ridiculous. Both us and Liverpool let Solanke go. It's easy to look at him today and say both clubs were wrong to let him go. No top club can keep afford to keep players year after year when they are not cutting it.
  24. After his terrible form during his loan in Germany he looked finished as a player in the top divisions. So it's good to see he's kept the belief in himself and worked hard to get back to being good enough to play in the Premier League again, even if it will be at a lower level club.
  25. If the pitches were too hard the players would have spoken out about them by now. They're not going to risk the possibility of damaging their career by playing on pitches they know could cause them injury problems.
