kev61 Posted September 25, 2023 Posted September 25, 2023 God only knows what team we will play.We are struggling but I don't expect anything radical from a manager that looks scared of his own shadow. 1
Bison Posted September 25, 2023 Posted September 25, 2023 Haven't seen much of them this season. Based on last season, Fulham are good at sitting deep and defending in numbers so I can't see how we're going to break them down. Most likely result is 0-0 or predictably we'll get hit on the counter and lose 1-0.
Mark Kelly Posted September 25, 2023 Posted September 25, 2023 They lost their star striker to the House of Saud , they're our closest rivals but they're better than us and we cannot score so 98% possession 0-2
paulw66 Posted September 26, 2023 Posted September 26, 2023 We'll win this 4-0. I'm off for a lie down. 2
Holymoly Posted September 26, 2023 Posted September 26, 2023 I know we've got injuries but so many players are already playing out of position. Fernandez, Chilwell, Colwill. Now Jackson and Gusto will be missing too. Word is that Caicedo will probably slot in at RB but god knows what bastardised Frankenstein's monster of a starting XI we are going to see here. If you line the squad up like something out of The Usual Suspects I doubt if I would be able to identify more than half the players. I want my Chelsea back.

I thought Disasi was excellent at RB for the last 30 minutes on Sunday. Caused a lot more problems than Gusto. 1
My Blood Is Blue Posted September 28, 2023 Posted September 28, 2023 Let’s hope we can build on the win vs Brighton and get ourselves something unheard of these days… back to back wins! 1 1
paulw66 Posted September 28, 2023 Posted September 28, 2023 I would expect a back 4 of Disasi, Silva, Colwill, Maatsen / Cucu Then it is a question of who plays CF. Has Broja got an hour in him?
jasonb Posted September 28, 2023 Posted September 28, 2023 You would expect Mudryk, Broja and Sterling to start, Palmer perhaps as the attacking M/F with Caicedo and Enzo behind him. Defence will just wait and see given the other injuries and suspensions. Now we have scored and won it will be interesting to see how that impacts the teams belief.
My Blood Is Blue Posted September 28, 2023 Posted September 28, 2023 I would like to see: Sanchez Disasi - Silva - Colwill - Maatsen Enzo - Caicedo Sterling - Palmer - Mudryk Broja I think we will see: Sanchez Cucurella - Disasi - Silva - Colwill Gallagher - Caicedo Sterling - Enzo - Mudryk Broja 1

When asked if Broja was fit enough to start against Brighton a few days ago, Pochettino defiantly said no - 15-20 minutes max. I don’t work with professional athletes but I just can’t see how a 5 minute cameo and 6 days later you are then ready. I suspect they are looking to slowly build up his minutes.
Sleeping Dave Posted September 28, 2023 Posted September 28, 2023 I'm expecting Poch to play; Sanchez Disasi - Silva - Colwill - Cucurella Gallagher - Caicedo Enzo Palmer - Sterling - Mudryk I would play; Sanchez Disasi - Silva - Colwill - Maatsen Ugochukwu Caicedo - Enzo Palmer - Sterling - Mudryk 3

Max Fowler Posted September 29, 2023 Posted September 29, 2023 Let's look at this in terms of potential results, based on our form this season: Any kind of win is worth 6 points Any draw makes Burnley a must-win Any loss is an unmitigated disaster

Sciatika Posted September 29, 2023 Posted September 29, 2023 @Bones He is right about not taking chances. I would argue that this is in part due to the lack of experience of the players. I am more concerned with ensuring that we deal with problems at the back, which, despite our good record, is a bit iffy. We are about to enter a period when we will see teams pressing high. We do not currently deal with it very well. 1
chiswickblue Posted September 29, 2023 Posted September 29, 2023 So we have available: GK: Sanchez, Petrovic, Bergström DF: Silva, Disasi, Cucurella, Maatsen, Colwill CM: Gallagher, Fernandez, Caicedo, Ugochukwa AM: Sterling, Mudryk, Madueke (bench), Palmer, Chukwuemeka (bench) ST: Broja (bench) 12 senior outfield players fit to start, plus another three on the bench. We can look forward to another week of 2 GKs on the bench, plus at least a couple of development squad players missing their match against Tottenham to sit on the first team bench.
