For me it's PL miles is the real issue and one would suspect the current squad is probably the lowest.

I don't recognise this.  but no worries.
Are you talking Villa or us?

Off to the Trading Post so haven't read everything this am...need to comment on the candy issues!

But will catch up on the important issue of the moment later.

In the meantime..Mudryk and Stirling....both seem to have the built in "tricky winger" syndrome..the "I can beat all six defenders in front of me" ,,,:and will do eventually,,or next time",,,I think it's called "Wingers Wind",,,not the weather kind.

Love it but not quite on the level of Alouette.

The hairy arse, Veeeeeeeeeee Deeeeeeeee and Gol-den Haaaaaaaaaaair are just the greatest parts to any song for me.

Both great to sing along to though and I don't think any other club has anything close to either of them.

One or two of the 'conductors' of the ditty are hilarious also.

If anybody is wondering why we have looked so shaky at the back all season, just have a look at the below, that's a list of the starting defence for every match this season, I've highlighted where the same back 4/5 have started consecutive games... it is not many and never more than 2 in a row. Also shows how Disasi is the only one seemingly able to stay fit!

Our squad isn't young? I've heard it all now.

@ROTG you've outdone yourself on this one, hopefully you do your usual though and try to keep it going, will be hilarious to see.

No Martin

the average squad overall may be young, however individuals are not.

Both the dippers and wolves had 3-4 teenagers / academy players in their squad. Whereas Chelsea has zero teenagers.

go check it out.

Myth?

23 is very young.

Not for a professional football. They are about 5 years into their career. Appreciatships are usually  between 16 to 18

is 23 young or just 1/3 of your life before you can get your pension or a free travel pass.

Take a look at the dippers match, which one of our average players were better than their younger players?

You’re moving the goalposts again. No-one said any of ours were better just that they’re young with an average team age of 22 (last night).

You’re obsession with the dippers “young” players is slightly worrying.

I was waiting for a meeting to start and it’s been on my mind that I’m sure we hadn’t played the same back line consecutively much or even at all this season, which will not be helping the confidence of the defence or the form… add to that most of them haven’t played together before and have had 2 brand new keepers behind them, it’s not a surprise we’re not rock solid back there… not even solid to be fair.

yes, but in one game against Liverpool they had some younger players.

Okay - we’re not really disagreeing. It’s just Villa were clearly nowhere near their best and that wasn’t just because of us. Every Villa fan thinks it was one of their worst performances this season and they look tired. They don’t think, “wow Chelsea played well and put us in our place”. It takes nothing away because it is a realistic view of last night and not a trap that we keep falling into - that one good performance will save our season.

Nobody ever does.

Which is the way to do it, introduce they young players against some mid-table team mixed n with 8 or 9 experienced players.
Go wild about the one that plays well, ignore the others.
We used to do that all the time.

Course they do. How many smaller teams have lost against City, played commendably but still lost. Look at Luton this season - they got applauded off against Arsenal and others despite losing.

Quite.

Smaller teams against City. Or the smallest team playing anyone.

All the teams in between, not so much

Wouldn't it be easier to put it in a spreadsheet (excel). Then one also can analyze more thoroughly......

Pivot of the day: 3 at the back or 4 🙂
